What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

It's sharp enough for me to carve chips off 1/8" oak using only the finger choil. Video to come after I get home.

Using convexity I can achieve both thinner behind the edge geometry and largely preserve the original makers mark and much of the initial lateral strength of the blade with dramatic improvements in cutting ability.

We have a special spider glass that's used to relocate our arachnid friends out of doors. In the winter we just put them in the gigantic aloe plant that lives in a bucket nest to the window.

Everything IS better with pig... 👍
Quite possibly but I think it depends on context. Remind me how we came to this conclusion though? I'm not sure that was Wilbur's spider

The ring knives are for a local customer who lives a town over, and he's also getting one of the chef sets that just came back from Jarod. I'm waiting for my new belts to arrive, so I did his ring knives first, as I had a few fresh belts left, enough for these. He was originally going to come and pick them up, but after talking to him, he would prefer to make one trip only, so I put the ring knives aside for now and instead of starting on the rest of his order (grinding a tall chef's knife and carver with the one fresh belt I have left now and worn belts would take forever), I spent the day putting together designs for a new order for a good customer of mine.

Once the belts arrive, I'll be able to hog steel at full speed again, and get the rest of the order done. They ship by Fedex so should be here in a couple days, or by Monday I would guess. Until then I may be able to knock out some of the smaller knives I've got lined up.

Oh and I'm going to hire hire a friend to drive me and the ring and chef knives over when they are done, and save my customer the trip altogether.
