What's happening in the David Mary Custom shop?

Nice David, just don’t over do it, there’s always tomorrow.🤗.

Tomorrow is Sunday so I won't be doing servile works, buying, or selling. I'm already in enough of a hole with God, I don't want to dig it deeper like that.

On the two on the left, are you using Cobey bolts? Spell check gets me again but you get the point?

Just 1/4" nickel silver tubes with 3/16" rods glued inside for a different look.

There is no hole. Remember the parable of the two brothers, one stayed home, one returned after having left and blowing all the wealth his father gave him? God is happy to have you home.

I literally just read that this morning during my alone time. :) Luke 15:11-32

Thanks C Corey.L ! I appreciate it. That is the Skinny Fat Bowie, and I have made a few of them all in carbon steel up to this point, if I recall correctly. This is definitely the first one with Suretouch, I think with AEB-L as well. I have one coming in MagnaCut within the next few months that I'm eager to put together. The one I just finished today is for another of my valued customers.

And the rest. Gonna go over everything again Monday, then take more pics, and reach out to customers. After that, looking forward to another batch for GKC! BBQ Brutes and buschamps and buddies, oh my!

This one, I am really tempted to keep and use as my new EDC, and move along my LC200N neck knife. Not entirely sure yet...

It's the Bird & Trout design originally sent to me by another customer for his order, and I made another one as well. But for this one and the pink knife from a couple days ago, I used that blank, and simply cut off the pinky hook for a better fit in my hand as well as balance. Does that make it "my design"? I don't even know, haha! But I like it, and I think it will be an excellent ricasso cleaning knife.

Prevail, and a version of it that makes me reconsider no longer wearing one of my own, but it's spoken for.

A couple spaghetti knives:

And another spaghetti knife, if you can believe it! All the spaghetti knives are spoken for as well.

I see a couple spots on the bolster that need a little more rubbing with probably the 220 first and then 400 again.

Thanks for looking, and have a blessed Sunday.

The humbling story: I was about to start grinding the next batch of blades today, an order for Good Knife Co., 3 Bush Brutes, 3 Bush Camps and 4 Bush Buddies. I noticed also a Michigan Utility Knife in the batch (at the bottom in the pic below), another of Chad's designs, so I notified him and let him know I had forgotten about it. But he didn't actually order it, so it appears I added it to the laser cut order by mistake.

The good that came out of my mistake: As can be expected from the great designs from the bikerector bikerector , it spurred me on to ideas for a smaller but similar knife. Since he doesn't need a MUK on this run, he was gracious enough to give his blessing for me to use the blank and mod it into something new (and I kind of got into a zone and didn't want to stop):

And I thought it was time for a different handle style than I have been doing lately. Voici les résultats:

As for the GKC order, I am hoping that the post office has my new platens tomorrow, because I would like to change out my current one that is pretty worn before I attempt high saber grinds such as the GKC knives require.

Thank you for dropping by the shop.

This arrived today

So it's time to run these into the ground...

machete and khukuri time- full height grinds are easy but fresh platens are better for saber grinds, and GKC was willing to wait a little longer.
