What's in a name?

I had never posted on a forum, and just came here to read. I just put my age at the time after the first part of my name.
If I had known I would be posting I may have put some thought into it.

So should we be calling you Ken49 now? :D

Came up with mine when I was a kid, needed a name for an online game that all my friends had gotten into so this is what came to mind. The main character in a video game I had been playing at that time was named Ty and I added an e at the end because Ty was used as an acronym for thank you a lot on that game. Possum came from a picture that was hung on the wall next to the computer by an aboriginal artist named Gabriella Possum.

So Tye Possum is my online name now for just about everything. I've continued to use it because I think it sounds kind of woodsy which reflects my interests now and the fact that half of it was from a video game isn't obvious which is nice because I'm not into video games these days.

I've been jivedaddy for years, don't really know why, my kids helped me come up with an e-mail name in the early years of the internet-it kinda stuck-no jive, daddyo!!

Well I guess you guys figured out that my passions are hunting and fishing, The 808 is the area code where I do these passions. Notice that both of these hobbies lend themselves well to whipping out a knife and cutting something:D

it begins like this:

In the most famous scene of the film (and one of the most memorable comic scenes of all time) - the classic, slapstick crowded "stateroom scene," Driftwood finds himself in Suite # 58, a telephone-booth-size stateroom on the cruise ship, courtesy of Gottlieb. When the steward attempts to cram the steamer trunk into the cozy room, he asks: "Wouldn't it be simpler if you just put the stateroom in the trunk?"

He is aghast to see three stowaways, Fiorello, Riccardo, and a sleeping Tomasso curled up in the bottom drawer of the trunk, pop out into his tiny compartment. Fiorello warns Driftwood to be quiet:

Fiorello: Shh. Don't wake him up! He's got insomnia and he's trying to sleep it off.
Driftwood: That's as grisly a lookin' object as I've ever seen.

Driftwood: I say Stew...
Steward: Yes, sir.
Driftwood: What have we got for dinner?
Steward: Anything you like, sir. You might have some tomato juice, orange juice, grape juice, pineapple juice...
Driftwood: Hey - turn off the juice before I get electrocuted. All right, let me have one of each. And, uh, two fried eggs, two poached eggs, two scrambled eggs, and two medium-boiled eggs.
Fiorello (requested through the door): And two hard-boiled eggs.
Driftwood: And two hard-boiled eggs.
Tomasso (signaling another egg order with his horn honk): HONK!
Driftwood: Make that three hard-boiled eggs...and, uh, some roast beef: rare, medium, well-done, and overdone.
Fiorello (repeating his order): And two hard-boiled eggs.
Driftwood: And two hard-boiled eggs.
Tomasso: HONK (signaling an amended order)!
Driftwood: Make that three hard-boiled eggs....and, uh, eight pieces of French pastry.
Fiorello (repeating his order): And two hard-boiled eggs.
Driftwood: And two hard-boiled eggs.
Tomasso: HONK!
Driftwood: Make that three hard-boiled eggs.
Tomasso: HONK! (a shorter honk)
Driftwood: And one duck egg. Uh, have you got any stewed prunes?
Steward: Yes, sir.
Driftwood: Well, give 'em some black coffee, that'll sober 'em up!
Fiorello (requesting his order a fourth time): And two hard-boiled eggs.
Driftwood: And two hard-boiled eggs.

1. I have no idea how I missed this thread
2. It probably doesn't matter that I'm late to the game because...duh.
3. It's a cool thread deserving of bumpage.

....carry on my wayward sons. :D

I should have come up with something a bit more exciting I guess lol. Mine is just my name, Jesse Duncan Lalonde, wierd mix of biblical, scotish and french i guess, dad wanted to name me Jesse James but mom wasn't too keen on that one.

Hardboot snowboarders are sometimes known as 'trenchdiggers' for their deep, carved ruts left in the snow. Around the time I joined BF, a friend's wife asked if I was still 'ditch digging', and it sorta stuck.
My location refers to a song in my repertoire as a solo singer/12-string guitarist.
My real name is Tom.

2Dead is the name I have been using online for a few years now. Before joining any forums, I was online playing competitive first person shooters. I've been playing with the same bunch for a few years now. I was very active when I joined BladeForums so I just used the same name.

Thanks,
Trand

Nothing too spectacular. "OldPocketKnives" seemed a bit long and boring (the name, not the knives), so I chose Waynorth, because I'm an American who lives just over the Canadian border with my lovely Canadian wife!!
Living here has also given me a profound appreciation of American's staunch Northern Ally. Dudley Doright comes to mind!
:D
Charlie to you!:)

As kids my brother and I had this fascination with robots. He took it so far as to tell everyone that he wanted to be a robot when he grew up. As adults whenever we get together we act more like kids than we ever did as kids. Robots tend to factor heavily into our conversations.

And 37 is just my lucky number.

OK mine is kinda self-explanatory. I'm 54 years old and have worked the 11pm-7am, or the 12 midnight-8am shift basically the whole time since I began working at age 18. Except for some short stints as a detective on the day shift. Therefore my name..Nightshifter.

I'm no big fan of the way some people behave when they're cloaked behind a screen name. I don't want that to happen to me, so I try to put my name on what I say and do. I have made exceptions for sites that juveniles frequent.

My Handle comes from my time in the ARMY!
I was a Calvary Scout! In the 1st Calvary Division
at Ft. Hood Tx. Baker is my last name, g2g is green 2 green
When talking over the radio you don't say things that the enemy
can understand! I'm sure most of you knew that!
green 2 green means, good to go! Everybody is
in postion! and We are green 2 green at this time!
We would find the enemy and report, the
size, activity, location, uniform, time and element! We were
always green 2 green!!

Some 10 years ago, my company got all enamoured with 6 sigma and we hired a bunch of 6S black belts in the company. As my other hobby at the time required a lot of cutting and fitting of intricate wood parts, I coined my forum name used here and elsewhere (TLARbb) as the acronym for "That Looks About Right black belt" which has no significant relation to any other black belt genre. But there you have it -TLARbb.

Good on ya, Fields of Fire.
I quite like "The Seer" as well.
