What's in the name Jeep? (And the Becker lovers who love them.)

More from last year that totally belong here!

JEEP ON!

Hehe, thanks E! They almost lost that sign lol. Circled it 10 times that week until I figured folks wouldn't freak out![SUB][/SUB]

Gonna have to take the seat out of my Liberty some time soonish. The driver's side seatbelt... clicky thing.. that holds it in is busted and won't hold sometimes and I think the only way to replace it is to take the entire driver's seat out.

I bet you'll need a heathen metric wrench. :grumpy:

I always thought the Jeep name stood for:
Just
Empty
Every
Pocket

Here's my 60th Anniversary Bullet, ordered her from the factory 15 years ago, still my daily driver @ 125,000mi:

I love my Jeep, any Jeeps really until '07. I used to have an old CJ7 that taught me what Jeep life really was. Unfortunately I was still in the Corps and didn't have time to commit to a project vehicle. It was sold and replaced worth a pickup. When I got out of the Corps I bought a brand new 06 TJ.

It's my daily driver and around the home work horse. From hauling people/gear up and down Becker Mtn to winching on trees to drop safely, it does it all with a smile.

Nice! I didn't realize it was an '06 like mine. I was eyeballing it...what lift and tire size are you rollin?

I remember, I have proof.

Mine are 33's (well, the stupid tire language equivalent) and the lift is a Rubicon Express 4" suspension.

Nice, thanks! I look oblivious to someone with a camera lol or my gaze was locked on ur Jeep. That's the perfect height and stance IMO
The dealer threw in a brand new set of tires after I made the deal so I'm sticking with 31" for now. We've been road tripping a bunch so might not take that long heh

The Warrior's recent post in Snark about a YJ he's goign to go look at prompted me to get a bit nostalgic and dig through my Photobucket for some pictures of mine. She's in storage now. Granted, my storage fee is that Dad is using her around his place so don't feel too sorry for her, but I should be bringing her back home sometime soon.

I'll have had my YJ for 10 years this June. I sold my CJ-5 when I graduated high-school in order to fund a Wrangler purchase in order to drive it to and from school. I miss my CJ-5, but I absolutely love my YJ. I have not been the most gentle caretaker of this Jeep, but she's been great. It needs a bit of body work and I would love to give the suspension a once over and add a few things here and there.

This picture was taken after I had safely arrived home from a 200 Mi trip during a bit of a snowstorm. It was on this trip that I learned that a little bit of snow, 12.5" wide mud tires and a rear Detroit locker are not a fun combination in 2wd. The sailing was a bit smoother later on once I got into the little bit deeper snow on one of the highways that hadn't been plowed yet.

Hey, I found one of the CJ-5 in my photobucket.

I know where it's sitting now. At this point he's had it for 10 years to my 3 I had it, but its still my Jeep. If he ever decides to sell it, I'll have a hard time saying no. Bills be damned!

I can't forget about my 1961 CJ3B. Dad and I got the idea to go out and buy 4 Willys Jeeps. 3 CJ3B's and one CJ5.

The CJ5 was for parts and I started with the 1958 Maroon CJ3B with the mismatched drivetrain. Since the frame was shot and so muchw as missing, we decided to go with the rougher looking Blue 1961 CJ3B. Even though the body was rusted in two and the head was off of the seized engine, the frame was in better shape and more of the stock drivetrain was intact AND I scored a rebuilt engine in the deal. We took a few hours and swapped it into the red Jeep to test it out. It ran great. Just about everything on my 3B has been rebuilt. txles, transmission & transfer case. It has Chevy 1/2 ton disk brakes up front. I also have a good top that I need to do some finishing work on. It should be a great Jeep once everything is back together.

Here are a few misc. pictures I could find while we were messing around in the shop.

Also, this was my first transmission rebuild.

After a few beers it was all back together and I only had a few parts left over.

I can't find too many of my pictures, but we cut the front portion of the body off of the '61 since there were some late model changes to the CJ3B as Kaiser/Willys produced more and more CJ5's.

We were in the home stretch of finishing the drivetrain and getting the body back in one piece when I got a job offer in a different city three years ago. So it is still sitting incomplete in the corner of Dad's barn. He's done a lot of work on it himself and it is VERY close to completion. Right now, the body is in one piece, primed and ready for paint. The rest of the Jeep just needs wired up with only a few parts to source to be done. It is so close it is agonizing.
