You don't crutch once you hit the stall?
Same here. I've tried both the wrap and without the wrap. I prefer the former. I usually get the smoker to around 230-235°, so just let it cook a little longer.I’m not a fan of the crutch. I don’t want soft bark.

Beautiful, man a good pheasant hunt is on my bucket list.
Agreed. Have a stock cooking down now. Will save it for later use.Pheasant makes an awesome stock.
This “hunt” was a charity event, and was a tower style, so barely hunting. It was a great day spent with some excellent people though. Sporting clays in the morning and pheasants in the afternoon. It was rejuvenating to be around so many high quality people for a couple days.Beautiful, man a good pheasant hunt is on my bucket list.
With the weather we're having here it almost feels like morel season already.Agreed. Have a stock cooking down now. Will save it for later use.

Finishing up prep for dinner now, with the longer cooking items in the oven or on the stove. Pheasant and wild mushroom, with a beef filet option. Some boulangere potatoes and green beans for sides.

To be continued…
We don’t have many down here, but i did find a few on a camping trip last year in early March. We typically hunt chanterelles, black trumpets, and chicken of the woods. Definitely looking forward to mushroom season this year. With the weather we're having here it almost feels like morel season already.
In case anyone wanted closure on this. It was delicious!

She said she blended mine with orange juice, orange vodka, hibiscus syrup, grenadine, and frozen blueberries. She was shooting for a spinach and goat cheese omelette but ended up making a scramble instead.
