What's that you're eating?

Stellar efforts lately, my Food Friends! I was lucky to have an extraordinary food and wine experience in Dallas yesterday: View attachment 3120401View attachment 3120402View attachment 3120403View attachment 3120404View attachment 3120405

I would need bariatric surgery if I was privy to that spread!

It was an unusually warm day yesterday 2/28 in the SFBA, so I took my little red sports car out for a drive up the Sacramento River to my favorite eating spot in Lodi for brunch.

The place is the "Wine & Roses Hotel & Spa" with their newly remodeled (a least the 2nd time they've done this in my memory) restaurant which is now called the "Americana House" which was created by a Michelin star celebrity chef named Charlie Palmer.

They offer patio seating but my favorite spot is at a table indoors with a great view of the patio. Started my meal with a Bloody Mary . . .

And after finishing it, I knocked off a dish of Fried Chicken & Waffles with a large French Press pot of black coffee . . .

There's a new decor, the menu is different, the prices are higher & the service was good (as usual).

I didn't notice that the food was any better than before but I'd still come here just for the beautiful & tranquil setting.

Hit a new spot in Dallas yesterday for long Friday lunch. Check this great menu and drinks selection:IMG_0461.jpegIMG_0462.jpeg
Tried the sensational breakfast empanada and guisado pot roast atop posole cheese grits that were mind-boggling. Not pictured: green chile chicken pot pie special. We ate it too fast. IMG_0479.jpegIMG_0491.jpeg

Ha! I scrolled through the menu, and was about to type "so how was the pot roast?", then I saw that is what you ordered. That would have been my choice also.
