Went out to dinner the other night and I got baked stuffed shrimp. There was a ton of the seafood stuffing, so I ate the shrimp and about half the stuffing. So we brought the rest home along with the wife’s leftovers.

So tonight we decided to try doing stuffed cod roll-ups using the leftover stuffing. Came out really good.

Power went out about 6 this morning. Luckily the stove is gas, so was able to cook some breakfast before venturing outside in the storm to get the generator moved and fired up. Still under generator power.

We’ve had absolutely beautiful weather these last few weeks. Was raining hard all day then cleared up fast. The wife decided she wanted to go out for crab cakes. Came home and made coffee and snacked on some banana bread I’d made earlier.

Grilled some chicken and bacon for dinner last night to go with our leftover takeout starches from the night before. 1/2 lb of Hempler’s pepper bacon, brushed with balsamic glaze near the end. Really tastes like candy.

Thank you. I repurposed some of it for dinner again tonight. Leftover mashed potatoes smashed flat on a baking sheet with some butter on top to make a crispy crust. Just reheated the leftover black eye peas. Tri-tip for the meat tonight. Sous vide to 120 then grilled for the final sear.

One of the restaurants I've been wanting to try. French Onion Soup RAMEN!!! With short ribs, grilled toast with swiss. It was incredible. I'm going to make it at home and add it to my dinner rotation.

I never used to do much baking but I’ve been doing more this year, and getting comfortable with additions and substitutions. This one came out real nice today. We finished a pot of coffee and two slices between us this evening.

This is my favorite homemade chocolate cake recipe. Top with creamy chocolate buttercream and chocolate chips for 3x the flavor!

Used this recipe, but swapped half brown sugar into the cake, and Greek yogurt and whole milk instead of buttermilk. Added bourbon to the buttercream frosting.
