What's that you're eating?

Good grub, good times brother. My youngest son is coming home from Alaska this week and I’m really looking forward to hangin’ like that. Oh, and REK and CRK…🔥🔥🔥

We'd gone shooting together with my best friend and his son, who is a 2-3 years younger than my son. They couldn't join us for dinner, but after seeing the food pics promised they would next time 😂 We also shared a salmon skin roll 🤤 but this Filet was some of the best tasting food I've had in years! We plan to go back for this again next weekend...

My friend's son is a crack shot, and does competetive shooting, so his group sizes were insanely small! My friend is almost as good as his son (and former military and govt work catching bad guys). I was shooting 4" groups at 10 yards vs 1.5" groups for his son, and they were shooting everything into 1" holes at 7 yards freehand vs my 3" groups. My excuse is monocular double vision and my iron sights are blurry, so I have to just sight down the slide and pray (my optic green dot on my 365XL and my red laser both present as a blurry star, and the right side of the star is what I have to use for sighting).

Leaning my shoulder against the wall in lane #1 for support (knees killing me) at 14 yards (the max for this facility), a 12 round mag + 1

Steamed fish is my favorite dish to order at a Chinese restaurant & I had the urge for some yesterday.

I can cook it myself at home but it always enjoy it more when I eat it at a restaurant.

Unfortunately the number of Chinese restaurants with live fish tasks is rapidly diminishing. The place I use to go to in SF just closed & the one in Oakland has changed hands & isn't the same anymore. So, I drove to the only place that I still knew that had live fish & cooked it the way I liked.

It's a hole in the wall & typically dingy/dirty looking Chinese restaurant in Sacramento called the "New Lai Wah." Never been to the old one. LOL! ;)

So, I drove my little red sports car 70 miles up River Road to Sac & arrived just a few minutes before they opened @ 11am

Picked out the biggest black bass that they had in the tank, which I guessed was around 3#, and started lunch w/2 bottles of Heineken (the only beer they served) which seemed kinda flat to me but beer is beer 🤷‍♂️

After about 20 mins, the steamed bass was delivered to the table:

And I was ready to eat the fish all by myself.

A fish this size would typically be served to a table of 4 but with many more dishes (not just 1) served with the meal, of course.

And this is how the table looked just before I was done:

And this is what the plate looked like after I was done:
