What's that you're eating?

I made a Guinness beef stew at the campout this last weekend so these pics are from Saturday. I was really pleased with how it turned out and it was perfect for the winter conditions that we were privileged to enjoy. Beef, with carrots, celery, onions, turnips, potatoes, garlic, and beer.

Oh, and some of the fellas roasted brisket over the fire on Friday - we ate pretty good.

Wife wanted some baklava… so I had to make her some!
She is Turkish, I am not. But besides my charming smile, wit, and previously chiseled physique… baking may have sealed the deal with her so many moons ago.
Literally my favorite dessert on earth. So good with coffee. Those look absolutely perfect!

Again, not for everyone, but still a very tasty dish. Not something you'd normally find on a Chinese restaurant menu.

Sliced bitter melon stuffed w/ground pork, braised in a wok in mixture of minced garlic, mashed fermented black beans, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar , cooking wine, sliced shitake mushroom & water (which makes the gravy) and served topped w/the gravy over steamed white rice. :)
