What's the craziest thing someone said to you about one of your knives?

"I wonder what it would be like to stab someone with that?" Stated by a girl on our last date.......

One thing I always remember in my marriage which helps keep me from having an affair....

.....my wife keeps her knives VERY sharp and I have to go to sleep eventually....

The nice thing for me is that folks in Maine generally don't care about what you're carrying. I've gone to the bank and Wal*Mart before with my Condor Bush Cutlass (I had just got back from the woods and wanted to see if anyone noticed--I don't make a habit of it!) and no one even batted an eye. :p

I passed my 12 year old my knife to use for cutting line. (He forgot his.) Someone asked me if I was worried if he was going to cut himself. I said "If he does, he'll learn not to do that again." They just shook their head, walked away and mumbled something about redneck under their breath.

I run the knife safety course for our group's Cubs and Scouts. I never have parents complain and they've been asking for knfe recommendations for Christmas gifts. It is awesome to see kids using knives properly and with increasing skill.

These are the same parents you see in the stores who keep their children, literally, on a leash. They are responsible for the estrogenation of the US.

I had a soccer mom make a scene at my long time neighborhood bar and grill when I used my ZT0300 to cut an Irish Pennant from my shirt.

She literally stood up from a table several feet from me, obvioulsy having seen me deploy the Speedsafe 0300 and start shouting and pointing "HE HAS A SWITCH BLADE! HE HAS A SWITCHBLADE!"

Wow. Just wow.

My friend asked to borrow my knife, a FFG Delica 4. I asked why and he said he wanted to use it to pry a nail out of a board. WTF? I told him to try to cut an apple with a hammer while he's at it.

There's an old saying:
"For every task there is a specific tool...and that tool is a hammer!"

Obviously coined by a NKP. ;)

Do you have a youtube link to a video of that person slicing a tomato? Would be a good illustration of why we should have knives.

Of course I wont deny that a hammer is a versatile tool that can be used for a very wide variety of tasks and I do own a couple myself. But I do own quite a large number of other tools including a few knives - sometimes they are the right tools for the job!

Sorry Gadg. I tried to make a video but kept getting tomato juice on the camera lens.

I'll be uploading a vid soon of an EDC setup for a 16oz ball peen hammer. Kydex under left arm with a figure 8 550 rig.

I gave my wife several of the small Spyderco necklaces. A friend was admiring the Mini-Police: "This would be perfect if you got attacked by a marauding band of pixies!"

Hope you asked her whether she was currently on drugs or just a moron.

Waved knives are even more fun.

In short, to finish the story since it may be of interest, I live in Reno, Nevada which is rife with law abiding citizens who carry a folder and a CCW, like me. Nevada is an outdoorsman's state that prefers our second amendment rights be preserved regardless of their political preferences and just about everyone there besides the soccer mom group looked at her like she was over reacting. The bartender (who wanted my ZT badly BTW :D ) told her to calm down and that it wasn't a switchblade and was perfectly legal to carry and use in this state, city and his establishment. He gave me a plug and made sure he told her I'm a decent law abiding guy too. She sat down but the "ladies" continued to whisper anyway. No cops were called ;)

I wonder what she would have done if she knew I had an XD9 Subcompact at 4:30 in my waistband :D

Yeah, it's funny that people react to my knives the way they do and apparently don't notice the Glock 19 on my hip.
