Whats the last knife you used and what for?

To begin with, I acknowledge that just about everything I have learned about knifecraft over the years has come from internet posts, mostly in Bladeforums. That said, out of 68 posts so far in this thread, except for maybe 4 or 5 of the cutting chores described, the rest could have been done with anything; Vic Classic, box cutter, the crappiest of Chinese knockoffs, butterknife, key, fingernail etc.

I could have driven to work in a horse and carriage , but I didn't.

Buck Bantam for cutting a piece of my deer tenderloins.

Before that I used a Cold Steel Roach Belly to skin it..

i de animated a whole chicken for my uncle he was using a dull cheepo chef knife i whip out the military and beat him on my chicken lol.

Last night I sliced this huge chocolate chip cookie into 4 pieces with my Kershaw Tyrade. That D2 CPM is the best chocolate chip cookie cutting steel I have found so far.

I simply like knives. I know full well that a butter knife could have done the same thing my Tyrade did, but for me it is the enjoyment of having a knife that a lot of people will never see, much less know about. It's not a snobby thing at all with me, I just gain tremendous satisfaction having such a unique and finely built tool in my pocket. I t would not surprise me at all to learn that many others are of the same ilk.:)

I used my CR small sebenzea to cut plastic strapping off some freight at work.

In reply to ZNAPSCHATZ observations. I see your point. Yes, most of the tasks I use my Sebenza's for are quite ordinary and could be done with just about any blade. BUT A couple weeks ago I cleaned deer, then I used the same knife to process it. See I only killed one deer this year so far and I cut cardboard, open boxes many times every a day. This evening I'm planning on paying bills, and my sebenza will open the mail. I think most of the people in this thread are knife people, and like me, use their knives many times every day and more often than not it is a common little task.

Might be an interesting thread to ask what the most demanding thing a person used their knife for.....I think I'll start one.

Later GDWTVB

And I see your point. It's obvious that most people do use their blades for mundane purposes more than challenging ones, me too.
Your new thread will probably be more interesting than all this going on about peeling packages, slicing envelopes, gutting oranges and suchlike. I'll check it out right now. :D

I just used the sheepfoot blade on my 1976 yellow handled Case 6318 stockman to cut the surface off around a stress fracture on sheetrock before I mudded it. Wow, that was a mouthful!!!
