Whats the sharpest production knife youve ever received out of the box?

William Henry B12 Atlas - ZDP-189 core stainless @ HRC 67.

Also, all MicroTech I've gotten have been super sharp.

I've gotten some extremely sharp knives in the past, which would tree-top hairs, but the sharpest knife I can recollect was a Microtech Option II that I purchased 12 years ago. It was literally shaving sharp. Nothing I've seen before, or since could match it.

I soon sold it to an old friend, who I hadn't seen in 14-15 years, who had become a Policeman. I gave him a great big discount, and was glad to see the smile on his face.

FYI, this is the gentleman, who, when I was just a wee lad (less than 10 years old), introduced me to the quality that is "Bali-Song" from back in the Pacific Cutlery days. He also taught me how to open and close a Butterfly knife.

Sorry for wandering. Thinking about that knife just brought back some great memories. I guess I'm getting old, in that everything reminds me of a story. ;)

My William Henry knives have consistently been the sharpest out of the box.

I just bought a Spyderco PM2 (black G10, black DLC S30V blade) this weekend. Easily the sharpest new knife I've bought. Amazing.

Spyderco's! Have been dissapointed in my ZT's. Great knives but not that sharp from the factory.

My Ontario Rat 1 was the sharpest out of the box.

Spydercos and Emersons are a close second, with a nod to consistency.

For me it's a pretty solid tie between my Spyderco Atlantic Salt H1 and Benchmade 51 in D2.
Out of the box both were able to cut hanging hairs!

Needless to say the H1 didn't hold that edge as long, but still pretty remarkable to me anyways.

a vg-10 delica that came right out of the factory. the only production knife edge that felt sticky to the skin.

A Cold Steel SRK way back in 1991 or so. It had a polished mirror edge that cut me so bad. I've never seen one since with a factory polished edge like that.

This Bradley Alias I was probably my sharpest, out of the box. All it's needed since, is some light stropping to maintain the edge.

Hogue ex-04.
Tree topping sharp and I barely felt it when it gave me six stitches.
