What's with all the chatting in FS threads?

You keep talking like you're someone who's been a member here for years and years, yet your account is just a little over a year old and you've got like 134 comments. What gives? ""Over the years we settled on a couple of rules"? Settle that in your one (1!) feedbacked transaction, did you?

Lol...did you forget the contributions of Motega?
You two newbs got it all figured, have you?

🥳

Oh man, I must have completely forgotten (I must have blocked it out along with that pic of his bathroom floor). I don't recall him being a huge contributor either, certainly not to the level that he's here attempting to lecture people on what they should or shouldn't do.

While chatter may be distracting, I have found that it draws you in and sometimes for a good reason. It would be to either help noobies from being scammed or just common sense things like a customized knife is not the same as a custom knife.

The last time I was involved, the seller claimed that they had a custom knife and another member corrected the seller that it was customized and not a custom knife. The seller cried to a mod and got the corrections removed... Oh well

Here's why I disagree and why in most cases the chatter is not needed. In your example of the custom knife, you said the seller claimed to have a custom knife. Well 1st off if this was the case it should be in the "Custom knives" section not the regular production knives section. Secondly if you or any buyer is considering buying a knife, it is your job to do the research on it, not the seller's. Especially a custom knife to which I imagine was no small amount.

This really goes for any knife really. For example if I wanted to buy a Chris Reeve Sebenza even at the base line plain jane model, I would want to do some research before spending over $350 on a knife. Most certainly would I do the exact same and likely even more so if I wanted a wood inlay or a damascus or Unique Graphic or older model like a Regular Sebenza or Annual Sebenza. Thus if I did my own research I would not need to or rely on the "chatter" of others to determine if I want to buy said knife. Based on my own research I would know if it was a legit Sebenza or worth the price based on what I know about the particular versions above the standard plain jane. I've never purchased a custom knife off the forums but sure as hell would do some research about the knife and the maker before laying down anything over $100.

Also in your example above, if the seller did indeed go to the Mods and got the corrections removed then likely they weren't legit but just pure distractions. The mods are no joke, they know their stuff and know knives and in 99 percent of cases I'd trust their judgement over the common onlooker or member any day of the week.

That makes sense if everyone thought in a clear manner like yourself. In the end chatter is chatter I guess.

Here is an example of something you should never do: Speculate, that a member is selling a clone/counterfeit, in their sales thread. And if you do, you better be damn sure you got it right! This type of thread crapping BS by G Greg02 , is inexcusable!

What happened in oracleofomaha oracleofomaha thread is complete bullsh#t.
^ Perfectly & so eloquently stated, WC- exactly what I tried to say! ;)

And FWIW: oracleofomaha oracleofomaha handled this situation, perfectly, & very professionally.

And kudos to him, for refusing to sell his PM2 to that member who had the audacity to back track after the collateral damage he left behind, yet still had the feelings of self-entitlement, thinking he could still buy this guy's knife after the dramafest dump he took in his sales thread. Unbelievable!

Obviously I made a mistake and I apologized for what I did. I simply spoke on what I saw in the picture that was originally provided by the seller. Some people will forgive. Some people do not have forgiveness in them. I certainly learned a valuable lesson and I, if ever encountered in the future, will handle the perceived "situation" differently. I greatly enjoy this hobby and hope to see you around in better circumstances.

No hard feelings here Greg. I appreciate what you said, and this should be the end of it IMO. Take care.

I appreciate that. I will not delete anything in the thread that I posted. By leaving it up there for everyone to see, hopefully people can learn from it and keep from making the same mistake themselves.
I’ve already taken care of it.

In the future, if you think a member is selling a fake, report it.

The same thing you criticize, you’re guilty of… go edit your “I’ll take it” post.
