I'm an archaeologist, and what I carry varies a lot. There is a lot of variability in where and what I do.
For the museum: As of this week I have been using the S&M Barlow that Eyedog sent my way, and it is wonderful for the fiddly stuff. I additionally almost always have my Lone Wolf T2.
For field work: Depending on what the setting is, my work knives are Kershaw Cryo (for travel abroad in case it gets lost/stolen), Gerber Applegate Fairbairn Covert for shorter gigs (as far as I'm concerned, if you don't think Gerber still makes some good hard use folding knives, you haven't used an AF), and for Field School digs way out in the bush I will be going with my Spartan Harsey Difensa (though in the past it was the K. Tragbar hunter my Grandpa gave me).
For the classroom: This is still a few months in the future for me, but teaching was what got me to start looking at traditionals. The SM Barlow will definitely be in rotation there.
