Whats your favorite cheap edc

Buck Vantage, Kershaw Skyline, Kershaw Cryo.

Didn't somebody already ask this question once ?

Answer: nope, not once; more like 400 times! :p

I think I'll still make my "Best knives under $39.99" thread anyways. lol jk. I never get tired of these threads, all of my knives are under $50.

I'm surprised no one's named the Buck Vantage Select. $30 shipped or $30 from a store. Excellent little knife and it's Buck, Made in 'Merica with that Buck Forever warranty.

I would have to say spydercos tenacious and persistence are some of the best for the money. I personally loved using a blade tech katana for years, it was an overlooked knife.

Wow, in the time that it took me to write my response, there were about another 30 responses, including vantage select. This is a popular thread.

Under $40? jeeze...it's been a while since I bought a knife that inexpensive.
Victorinox compact, cadet, pioneer, soldier. Just about any one of them can be had for under 40 fairly easily.
Other than that, Spyderco Tenacious, spyderco ladybug, Kershaw chill, or leek (i think it might be over but i know it's close to 40) CRKT M16 series isn't bad either.

I don't normally spend less than $40 for a new knife, but check out the Lansky World Legal.

For me it's easy, I lucked out and got a Dragonfly II during a lightning deal on the 'zon this past Christmas for just under $40.
Just ordered the Kershaw CQC 6K and we'll see how it does.

This is an interesting topic. Since I have really been getting back into knives I have pretty much been trying to move up the ladder in terms of knife quality without spending my whole paycheck doing so. In doing this, I have sold all of my beaters to buy more expensive knives. Right now my cheapest knife is my spyderco native 4, which I carry pretty much exclusively at work. Thinking about a blackwash leek for a lightweight work knife to rotate with the native.

I received my ESEE Zancudo, and I have to say its a nice little folder. I can see where some might think the detent is strong, but it doesn't bother me. Then again, I have major calluses on my fingers from being diabetic and working with tools etc in my free time so strong detents don't bother me. Despite the fact that I won this knife in a GAW, I would gladly pay for one. Its a nice knife for the "collection." Looking at what I own, my average knife costs upward of $120.00 so for such an inexpensive knife to receive praise from me, its definitely something special. I'm very interested in the Kershaw/Emerson collabs but I just can't bear buying a knife in 8cr. Hell I cringe at the thought of buying S30V! Ugh I've been assimilated into the knife knut collective--resistence is futile.

The one I have is actually a POS very poor, gritty, opening and closing so hard that you stand a good chance of injuring yourself, I really wanted to like this knife but it just isn't well made. The design is good just not carried out well.

For everyday use a Victorinox Fieldmaster, Cadet and occasionally Pioneer.

For hard use when working in the yard a Sanrenmu 763 because I love the axis lock. And I don't mind slowly destroying or breaking a 10 dollar knife.
From my experience its near unbreakable if you don't put to much force on the sides so I ordered two spares. I should be set for another few years.
