i'm thinking about ordering a new swiss army knife,(i only have a trekker) but i'm torn on which one to get? i'm leaning heavy toward's a fieldmaster. or maybe just a simple tinker.
so what's your favorite swiss army knife? any pic's would be sweet
Farmer. I've only owned 5 or sixe of them though. The farmer is thin, has the tools I use the most and is sexy. Silver not so much, but I have the red one. Man I love the way it looks. I don't like goofy looking blades.
Oh, I am all for the Farmer. Essentially the perfect assortment of tools for both bumming around in the woods, and edc tasks. I've also noticed that the tools in alox knives tend to be a bit beefier than their plastic-scaled counterparts.
If I had to choose just one, I would probably pick the Farmer. The Rucksack is my favorite woodsbumming SAK and the Executive can be very nice for EDC.
I have to go with the "Tinker". Not bulky. Has most all i need. I would have said Farmer, but i never need a saw. I do need the phillips screwdriver, the small blade and the TOOTHPICK.
I like the Trekker, but most of the time I reach for the Outrider first. I am a big fan of the vic scissors.
I think my favorite is the Huntsman. Same as the Fieldmaster, but with a corkscrew instead of a phillips screwdriver. I added the micro screwdriver to the corkscrew in case I need to work on my sunglasses.
My first reaction is that the Tinker is my favorite. I have 3 now. I like the 2-layers-thin aspect and the tweezers. I've been curious about an alox model but don't want to give up the tweezers or the cold-weather comfort of the plastic scales.
However, my Tinkers mostly sit at home. I EDC a Classic and use something on it every day.
