I carry a XLT every day. Prior to that, I carried a Champ for 20 years. I bought a XXLT several years ago and found it to be too large. I have several other models but I have not tried an Alox yet.
You're lost in the boonies... but you have your trusty Vic 'Smurf' Farmer - and your 1895 Nagant, of course.
Well, last year I finally got a Vic 'Skipper' - pretty neat - but big - nice big locking serrated blade. The pliers make me prefer it over my simpler 'Helmsman'. Still, the Farmer is nice - probably my favorite for camping, etc. Besides, Bush Sr. was President when I sold my sailboat!
Once upon a time, all I had was an old Craftsman - thirty-odd years ago!

Anyway, it has the features I find most useful in a SAK. It's also the older model that has the straight scales. I believe the newer ones have a more curvy handle on them.
A SwissTool is always in the glove box of my car. A Spirit is always in my EDC bag. A Mini-Champ is always on my key ring. A Mechanic is always on my desk.
When I want to carry a knife that doesn't make the sheeple baa in terror, I carry a Tinker (and mainly use the small blade). The Tinker is the most comfortable folding pocket knife for me.
