Charlie, Is that trapper on the bottom the same I just saw posted on the old knives thread above ?

Fran

Opps ! Never mind, I should have looked first. They've been drinking from the same well though.

Charlie, those from Tenn. are very nice for sure. Is the trapper a single blade 124 pattern? Pretty sure of that one. What is the length on the one in the center? And just what is that handle shape, sleeveboard? It appears to swell to the center pin.

thawk, I added the model number to my thread earlier, after I found it in the Schrade pocket knives book. Listed as a serpentine Jack knife model 1943 3/4.

Great set there Charlie, and rare too! Thawk I believe the center one is known as a Norfolk pattern, although I think we need Charlie in here to corroborate that.

Roland you dog! I was gunning for that one as well, nice snag!! You WON'T be disappointed:thumbup::thumbup:

In reference to my trying to walk before I can run error of above, thawk is correct, the single blade Walden Jack knife is a model 124, the Schrade Cut Co of the similar pattern would of been the 1943 3/4 :foot:

That middle knife is interesting; first one I've seen. It's not quite as curvaceous as a Norfolk. Schrade called it a Serpentine Balloon #7553, 3 1/4" long.
The catalog cut shows what looks like a straight backspring (back) profile, but this knife seems slightly curved, but not nearly as much as a Norfolk. The Norfolk also has a bigger main bolster. Wish the knife was in my hands:D!

regarding my earlier post(page 9), the stock LB7 is not the same knife as shown on the poster. it is a similar knife made somewhat later than the poster.
also Mr. Williams refers to LB7s as 3 pin and 2 pin, because those are the handle pins, the other is the rocker pin.
now if some of us start to use this correct nomenclature, we could really confuse each other.

Here is another knife from Tennessee, which I am posting for a friend;
Mint as they come!! With box and papers!!

Eric

Wish I knew, Eric! I've found decent knives in piles of junk, but nothing like that one!!

An 885UH the last stockman to come into my home town Wallyworld after the doors shut. You guys have some great Shrade stuff especially the older models!

What I think may be a Schrade made Sears 95419 stockman

Got this trapper second with the partially ground off tang stamp cheap, like $11. The only flaw I can find is the gap between the backsprings. Otherwise, its a beautiful knife.

Dave, nice snags, you've got a little of everything in that bunch, I especially like the George Washington 507 from the Presidents Set :thumbup:

Nice going GM!! I was watching that one myself, don't recall why I didin't bid but apparently it's a good thing, glad you got it!! That's the only 25 I've seen, now if someone can only dredge up one of the boxes, you'll be set!

Eric

Thanks Eric, i would love to find a box, buy i've never seen one, this is the only 25 i've ever seen. The seller had 0 feedback, no body else bid, i took a chance and the man was honest, i would have gladly paid twice what i gave. Some times you luck out,G.M

That's a neat set there G.M. I think the question to whether Schrade actually finished any of the folding hunters has been answered, Well done! I have the Trapper and Stockman, just the other two to find, I've seen some of the peanuts recently without the 100th etch. That set is hard to put together, again well done!
