I thought the staglons were called LB 8.

That is how it is catalogued Calvin, you are correct, although I have seen some LB7's with the staglon handles also. I think it's another one of those "Anything is possible with Schrade things"

Had a busy week on the bay and found a couple of Schrades and a couple Frontiers. First picture left side Frontier 4815 (unused w/sheath), right side Frontier P-IV, center top to bottom Schrade+ OldTimer 6-OT, Frontier 4135, Frontier 4321, and Schrade+ SC507 w/ a few turkeys (1986). The scrimshaw was a perfect buy for this time of the year. Does anyone have a good way to clean the scrimshaw scales without messing up the drawing?

I have cleaned Schrade scrimshaw handles using hot water and dish detergent. If there is sticky gum like from an old label, etc. i use Isopropyl alcohol on a rag (rubbing alcohol).

Still life. Here is my latest, a Schrade Walden NY USA peachseed red bone 880 saber ground stockman. Soaking a LOT of crud away (I hope) in mineral oil. Maybe it will come to show'n'tell again soon. Happy thanksgiving, everyone! I just ordered a three-piece carving set of Sheffield mfg, 110 to 120 years old in red popcorn stag with sterling silver ferrules, but it won't get here in time to carve the ham. :)

just got this set in. have never seen a Schrade Walden set of knives so even though it had one missing took a chance and bid and didn't even plan on winning. how if anyone has an extra knife of this set feel free to allow me to get it from them.

finally received it and turns out it is a Schrade Walden 15OT which i had an unmarked one but not a Schrade Walden. ah take a chance and sometimes you get rewarded. the funny part was that it came in the sheath with the tip sticking out, plain indicating that the two did not go together. if anyone needs a Camillus sheath just let me know. that would put this one pre 1973?

just won this and i have not seen a sheath like that before. i know it does not go with the knife but the side pocket for the sharpening rock looks Schrade. any ideas? plus who can resist a 10.00 fixed blade carbon steel knife?

Well I showed up here a few months ago while researching the C641 that I had since I was a kid. I have to admit that I've been obsessed with collecting the whole 3rd Generation ever since. Here's what I've acquired so far. I'm still on the hunt for a 707UH - it's proving to be a tough little bugger to track down.

Nice pick-ups on those 3rd Gens, especially the two "special" ones. I've been hoping to run across one of those LB4's for se eral years with no luck yet. I'm betting you will come across your 707UH soon.

Found it. But it's already beyond what I want to spend on it. I would rather put that kind of money toward a 2OT. Guess I'll be looking a lot longer.

I agree. The object is not to get one of these rare Schrades at any price. All that takes is a fat wallet. The fun is trying to find one that is poorly listed, or in with a group of knives, or somehow flies under the radar and then make the score for small to middling dollars. The search for this type of scenerio is the Big Fun.

Nice work! Great pic. You need one of those vintage 3rd Gen knife rolls if you don't already have one.

My latest Imperial Frontier knife is a 4421 (4 inch 2 bladed Jack with Stag scales). By the records I have these were only made in 1976. At that time they sold for $8.

This SCC with "SS" on all blades has been discussed somewhere in this forum. I think it was an early attempt to introduce stainless steel to Schrade customers. If you know the dates or more about this, please do chime in.
thanks for lookin', roland

The 1977-78 Parker-Frost Schrades often seem to get overlooked, but they are 100% Schrade.
Here's a truly mint example purchased for Rough Rider prices:

And here's the best part:

The single spring 77OT is much harder to find than the 2 spring and is a 'classier' knife; harder to make and nice and slim.
O.K. for now, eh. roland
