:grumpy: I Hope some day I get my grubby paws on a Muskrat like that Charlie!!!:p I love the RATS I carry one almost EVERY day among others but the RAT is my first and true love Schrade:D!

PS: Good on you remembering the BOSS!!!

Thanks George!
Continuing along, I got to Eugene a day early, and went antiquing, and found a really nice oak thread cabinet with 5 drawers for $225.

The Cane (1885 engraved Gold!), Tsuba and Al Mar came from other deals at the show.

I got them to throw in the old 883 for $20 more, and it turned out to be the real prize of the deal! Hardly used, perfect patina, beautiful bone and snap, no chips or cracks; sounds like a lot of Ebay ads I've read!

But the treasure of all is this rare baby. First one I've seen in the flesh! Ray (Paladin) pulled it out of his bag of tricks! Speaking of Ray, I'll post the people separately. It was a nice gathering of forum folkies!
The treasure;
Schrade Cut Co! The handle is cracked, and it was priced accordingly, but it ain't bad as cracks go.

Nice looking cabinet Charlie, Oh and the knives are nice too :D:D:D

That's a very neat looking doctors knife. Although used the 883 has character.

I think the Hawbaker Muskrat takes the prize from this selection.

Awesome looking additions.

From the index of Antique American Switchblades

Chapter 15: E. Weck & Son, New York, NY
1. Switchblade contract with Schrade Cut Co for push button knife.

Looks like E.Weck also contracted out for a few razors

Fantastic finds Charlie!! Sounds like the show was a rousing success, knives-wise and friends-wise:thumbup::thumbup:

I've got a hard time picking a favorite, i think it's a toss-up between the doc's knife and the hawbaker, hell they're all great!

Eric

Charlie!
You didn't show me the Hawbaker!
Probably a good thing as I spent more than I wanted to. :D

I am well stocked up with handle material for the coming year or two.
I have about 40 lbs of the best looking desert iron wood I have seen in a long time.
Also got some nice mammoth ivory & mammoth rib bone that had been stabilized. Can't wait to work with them. :D
I got some excellent dyed camel bone, and talked to a guy from India who imports bone. He told many of his methods he uses for dying bone. I am excited to try them.
I got some nice stabilized wood & some stabilized elk antler & dyed and stabilized deer antler.

Can't wait for the hand to finish healing so I can work on some new projects.

I met Paul Bos and talked to him for about 45 minutes. The more people I meet from the Buck organization, the more impressed I am. Chuck Buck is probably the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. I put him in the same league with Al Mar & Les de Asis of Benchmade. Well, Joe Houser & Paul Bos from Buck fall into the same category. All are what I call a "class act." BTW, Charlie falls into that category as well for those of you who haven't met him in person, (but don't tell him I said so). ;)

I also met Mike Silvey. He is a nice guy as well. We had been emailing about some bone handled TL-29, so it was nice to meet face-to-face.

It was a great show. I have to agree with Charlie, "kinda sad it's over."

I will post more pics later as I get caught up.
I got home and my AAPK store had been selling while I was gone so I had to spend the day packing & shipping knives.

More to come later,
Dale

PS- Here is a nice knife I got a good deal on. I bought it on ebay, but it came in the mail this weekend. Kind of an after show bonus. This is my first 3rd Generation knife.

It is nice that the old tradition of grovelling is alive and well!:)
It used to be an art form around here, and that one's not bad Roland!
I predict, that since you are undoubtedly younger than me, that you will own this, or some other Dr. knife before too long! Hey; that would be a good moniker for you; DR.KNIFE!:D

Nice antique shop finds Charlie ! All the kinds of things I like, But....umm....
You're not going to fit all your knives in that cabinet. Fact is, you probable won't get all of one pattern in that cabinet.

Just to show you all that I had a happy weekend show too, here are my latest Schrades.

A Cut.Co. EO which except for the covers is a match to my Wolfertz EO's.

The second is a Flylock 3-3/8" double. A George Schrade patent, produced by the Challenge Cutlery Corp. under G. Schrade's supervision. Schrade later acquired Challenge's building and equipment and started the George Schrade Knife Co. in Bridgeport,Conn.

Dale, Except for the addition of a top pin and the EO, it's the same knife as the one you re-bladed for me. That one, the swell end jack, even has the holes in the liners for the extra pin.

Fran

Fran that EO is a dandy. I like the sharp look of the bone. It looks fresh. Nice swedges too.

Pattern Number on the EO Fran if you didn't know is, is SS2013.

Russell

Wow Fran! You guys sure did clean up! That EO is fantastic!
