Nice finds Delmas! I believe the ornate sheath is a custom, or home-made piece.

Eric

I agree with ea42. eBay sellers know buyers want a sheath with their knives and a $5.00 sheath can raise item bids by $20.00 sometimes. Sheath looks great but non-Schrade to me. Considering how many Golden Spikes they sold you never know though. Kinda looks Puma-like in the way it hooks over guard and not around handle imho.

If not mentioned here previously, there was a small knife show in Easton PA, about a mile away from where I live, just back at the end of September. There were a few members from BFC there, Eric (ea42), Fran (sauconian) Alsso Charlie (Waynorth) Who travelled only a short distance from the West coast of Canada. (extended vacation) I have known Eric and Fran for some time although never had the pleasure of meeting Charlie. I'm sure your glad to be home now!! It cetainly was an education at the knife show much to learn, good and bad. just listening to pointers here and there makes a world of difference when looking over any probable purchase.

The first Two knives below were purchased at the Easton Show, The Third knife was an e-bay purchase.

Firstly a Schrade Cut Co 2013 E/O Jack knife.
Next a Schrade Cut Co 2152 I believe. The handles are Ebony.

The E/O Jacknife has been worked on, the blades are a tad short, although overall note a bad looking knife. I learned a lot that day at the show about how to read knives. It's almost like " all that glitters is not Gold"

The Ebony Jack has plenty of patina on the blades with spotting, the blades seem full, and looks to of had some time in a tool draw!

Lastly a 3 3/8 long single bladeJack knife with Cocobola or Rosewood handles with engraving on the front "COLUMBIAN MANILA ROPE" On the Pile side engraved C.J. Hendry Co. Hendry was a small ships Chandlery in San Pedro, California. Not far from Long Beach. From what I have found out, they went out of business in the mid Sixties. The knife seems untouched for the most part.

They are all three nice ones, but that EO is the bomb. Something about those fat spear blades that really trip my trigger. Thrown in that blondish tinted bone and a propeller shield. That barehead teardrop rope knife with a clip blade is a dandy for sure.

All great additions Russell.

Shown to advantage by your usual fine photos.

PS Charlie may have traveled the farthest, but Russell had the hardest time getting there ! ;)

Beautiful aquisitions Russell! Looks like your vintage Schrade collection is growing nicely:thumbup::thumbup:

A while back I mentioned a MA-6 I grabbed. Here are pics I took. I must say that the walk and talk on this knife is maybe the smoothest I have and that's saying a lot. Like silk with a really satisfying snap. Rock solid lock-up. I still don't think it would stay that way long if I really put it to the test but since it's for display only it's perfect for me. I didn't get anything with it though including sheath but life goes on. Knife is Mighty. I finally figured out you might use these "in the garden" as shown on advertising material for pumpkin carving lol. Tis the season... Any other backyard uses are still a mystery to me.

Nice trio of beauties, Russell! Quality pieces!
Good to meet you at Easton also. That was a nice, fun show!!
Great fillet knife from you Dave; my fellow British Columbian!!
We will have to meet some day!!

I had to travel to Charlotte, NC, this past weekend, and as luck would have it, there was a knife and gun show in town. I haven't had much luck at the last couple of these shows that I went to, but since I was looking for some ammo as well as knives, I figured I should be able find one or the other. Well, there were several decent knife dealers there, and they had some nice Schrades, but these two I'll be posting were the ones I couldn't walk away from. I won't swear to it, but I'd be willing to bet they were the work of one Mr. H. Williams. And sorry for the number of pics, but at least on this first one I had to show it from several different angles.

This one is built on the 51OT frame, and is, in fact, tang stamped 51OT. However, as you can see, this is NOT a conventional 51OT blade shape. I've never seen another like it, although according to the blade etch there are another 79 out there somewhere. This one has serial number "02" stamped on the bolster. And the stag on this thing is just over the top!

This second one is also sweet. It's a 227UH with some beautiful stag and a custom shield engraved "C.V.K.C.". S/N stamped on the bolster is "006", out of 100. I know Schrade pumped out lots of customs like this, so "1 out of 100" really isn't that big a deal, but if they were all like this, then I want them all!!!!

The IXL needs a little cleaning up, but was pretty much thrown into the deal at the end for about half the price I've lost it for on ebay.

Dave, that's incredible! What honkin' stag!!!!
I'm fairly certain that's HW's work, the stag definitely has his signature on it. I believe he was involved with another Catawba knife as well, a five blader built on the 80 frame. Beautiful stuff:thumbup::thumbup:

Eric

Oh Man!!! Congrats on finding all Three, although the first two knives are outstanding. the Stag is unreal!! I'm sitting here going Green, LOL. Fantastic purchase. Nice extra throw in on the IXL should look spanking when youv'e cleaned it up. Just a tad though!

DaveT63: Wow! I agree with Rusty1 and ea42. That stag is some of the nicest I've seen! Extra fat, as they say. The rich dark tone of it is great. That little-bit-different "51-OT" is a truly outstanding knife. Where are the other 79 examples? I'll take them all!

Wow Dave, you cut a fat hog on that deal!

I have to agree, the color on that stag sure looks like Herman's work!

Sweet, Sweet, Sweet!!!

Maybe someday we will... I'm pretty sure the Schrade-bug is not as common a disease up here in Canada as it is in the USA. My friends don't get this obsession either lol though they see it as making sense for me. It would be nice to babble in person with folks who like these knives as much as I do. It was the damned Toronto Sportsman Show I went to yearly in 70s and 80s that did this to me. A vast sea of everything cool including Schrade and people trying to sell you Schrade. Those displays hooked me for life.
More Canadiana: I met Bernard Herbert "Red" Fisher there one year. That was cool for me. I watched his fishing show religiously. Maybe others did too? In person he was very well dressed and heavily bejewelled with gold rings with big precious stones in them. Kinda funny cause he always looked like "Red Green" (Steve Smith) in his flannel on the show.

Stay Cool in The Waynorth
