I have the 226 sawblade stainless and the 126 stainless Mustang, and the box for the latter. The copyright on that box is 1991.

I find it mildly interesting to note that the European stainless version of the 225 Sonofagun sawblade has its blades loaded into the knife on the opposite side as does the U.S. version. Or, at least, mine does.

Well I just got this knife but it's not a Schrade it's a S&W USA and from what I found S&W knives were bought by Taylor Brands in 2004 just like Schrade is there a relation between Schrade and S&W?

All info would be helpful o also I got this 34OT in the mail today pretty rough but hey it was free and it'll be a good user

There's nothing wrong with that 34. Some steel wool and WD-40 will shine it right up. That's a pretty generous give-away there.

Picked these two up this week. The round bolstered guy with the grooved bolster was a long time coming. Been wanting one of them for a while.

Both are 787 Improved Muskrats, with Delrin handles. The Walden has a single spring. You can find single spring examples with the square bolsters too.

The round bolsters preceded the square ones. The round bolstered ones were made with bone handles for quite a few years.

Does that statement apply to the slim stockmen like the 825s, 855s, etc? I haven't looked at mine very closely in a long while to see if by chance I had any that were bone handled. I always assumed they were delrin.

It does for the 825SS, but I do not believe I've seen an 855 with bone handles. The 855 came about in 1964 in the Razor Blade line.

The 825SS was called "The Westerner". The 825SS, if it was bone, I believe had threaded bolsters too.

I believe you would find some bone handled "55" pattern in the Ulsters. Same knife and family.

Fine job finding the single spring Muskrat thawk, That's one on my list for the open stock series.

I sent a photo of this to UL last year and asked if it was good for dropping bannas :D . I remember seeing a poster on this when I was a kid thinking what a ugly knife for a Texan to carry on his horse . I have some nice scale shots as well .
It has a lovely HC steel that sings on a sharpening steel . I have worn it to a Barby BBQ but I think you need a back holster its so big . You can cut a roast paper thin if your into pecking .

Here are a pair of 897UH that I found just after the Schrade auction.

The dark one which I call a "blackie", has been left unfinished, unglazed and unsharpened. The collector I bought it from had several patterns of UH knives like this and said he acquired them quite a few years (10-15) before the closure. I recently bought another one just like it.

The second knife I call a "buckskin". It came from the same source and unlike the darker knives, appears to be undyed yet a totally different color base Delrin. It has been glazed and lightly sharpened.

These knives don't come around very often, and probably don't have much collector value, but they are neat examples of knives during production.

I pay anything for them . Top shelf to me Codger . Bloody mouth is gathering spit again
This is probably the closest he will get to his mates Codger

I have been haveing a problem lately mixing Australian Slang with Tang so i might end up with some mutated models . At least you will never hear me say "It smells like a Goanna crawled up your arse and died " an aussie analagy that I still laught at . You would have to smell a dead Goanna though . There isn't many girls called Anna over here either for obvious reasons . I told you that the kids don't ride Emu's to school they ride Roo's so there is somewhere to put their lunch box .
Don't know about you mate but i'm a heavy Beer drinker myself XXXX heavy .

Jamoooo....its taken me years to make them accept how couth we are.....and I very nearly got there <with a few beer hiccups>... till you came along mate....
True story I have 2 huge grey Roos <6' tall> show up near my RV every morning and you know what those big rear claws do to dogs...so I have to go out and crack my 7' stockwhip <ironically made out of kangaroo leather> every morning without fail to send them hopping....we have about 50 congregate daily in the adjoining National park land....things we take for granted but I guess would be unusual to U.S. folk?.Whats all this got to do with knives you ask...we have both carved up Kangaroo with USA Schrades. in our time havn't we?.....however Jamo please see if you can be a little more couth in future......Hoo Roo

Hey UL ,nice to get you away from your GOLD mine enterance . Don't worry I won't tell anyone . Mate I was being as couth as I can very mellow . No budge smugglers here mate . Boardies for me . You should get up early with some of those big boxing gloves on, old RED would be wooted. Good exercise first thing in the morning .
Its Dingo breeding season now have found a few dead Roo's in the dam from the dogs running them . The local Council supply free bait this time of the year when they are on the move . They are territorial so the rule of thumb is if you have a pack that doesn't chew your calves leave them be . I skinned my first Roo with that 897UH that I won't shut up about . My 7 working dogs have dingo in them . A lot of people don't know but Dingoes are the basic blooline of a lot if not all Australian working dogs .

144UH Guide's Choice I did a Schrade sin and pulled Mint out of box a few months ago to be kept as a worker . Oiled the sheath as well .
