Thanks, It's been stored in the sheath, I got the fingerprint in the front smoothed out but it is still stained + there are a couple of small stains on the back. Haven't rubbed on it much yet because I didn't know exactly how much to clean. Still have fun searching for it's origin but not finding much.

You may want to check this site out before you do anything major to that knife.

As memory serves, that is a custom from Yellowhorse.

From surfing pics I thought maybe Yazzie or Yellowhorse but I can't find anything (other than the pattern) to indicate that. Emailed the seller and told him that I'd be interested in buying boxes, papers etc. if they should happen to turn up.

I think you're on the right track now. :) I hope one of the guys that know more about these knives turn up now.

Oh HECK YEAH! If you can find the box and papers it would be great.

I am thinking that it may be the work of SantaFe Stoneworks, though I don't know that for a fact.

Thanks, Just sent a couple of pics off to Paula @ horsekeeping, she seems petty nice. We'll see how it goes. I spent the last 2 xmases in southern Nevada doing the Santa thing. Lots of nice people there, I appreciate your help.

Let us know if she is any help to you?

She is going to deal with my questions on her blog. There are about thirty in front of me so probably looking at a month or so of anticipation. Thanks again.

had taken off a bit on acquiring knives to add to my collection but things are a bit better now so went on a small binge. got an 809 Schrade Walden in decent shape. i do like the way a bone handle feels.

Scored another "cleaner uper". It should clean up nice. I need to get some more saddle soap for these poorly stored sheaths though.

Not only my latest Schrades, but my first 881 and 80T. If that wasn't cool enough how about the green bone covered 881 with an Old Timer shield? It is a very nice rehandle job just the same and my favorite of the lot. Just an excellent pattern all around

I just got another 881 a couple of days ago too. It's a late model one with Schrade+ blades.
