I'm trying to fill out a collection of these red saw cut handled Heritage knives. This is the first H889 that I've seen and was glad to get it.

My latest find, long known around here as the "Slendereeno" pattern, a term coined by a respected member. It is unused, and I've been working at getting stains off of the blades, without scratching the original glazing, from some hairy material that was left on the blades for a long time. The pattern is the Schrade Walden USA 825 Stainless.

So far

You can still see red "color stamped shield", which was done on the original versions of this Razor Blade Stainless knives with the PAT PENDING etch. This is such a great pattern, and a nice 3 9/16". Razor sharp, with resounding snap to the blades and grooved bolsters. It is the same slim stockman knife as the Uncle Henry 897UH pattern.

The "Razor Blade Stainless" promotion appeared in 1964.

This one was made in 2002-03, and has Blue bone handle. I do not know how many were made.
This one came in a set, that came in a wooden box with a glass hinged top.

More new in the box Sharpfingers. Darned things are falling from the trees into the 'bay and no one is bidding on them.

Until you add those three little initials U.S.A. then that number drops substantially. ;)
Even when doing that, there was still a small number of imports in the mix. Cheeky Bastages.

I'm laying odds Michael is scooping up USA Schrades not Taylors... :D

You would win your bet. There are plenty of originals out there in every condition if you know how to tell the difference. I do of course.

So what say ye? Did I find an original 152OT Sharpfinger made in the U.S.A. with the correct bling?

Good finds! Any of the 2004 "DS" (dual shield) anniversary knives are always a good addition to a collection. They were only made and shipped for a very short while. And quantities produced are unknown except by noting the rarity of their appearance on the market.

I believe that your 503SC is from the 1991 set of Scrimshaw Of The Great American Outdoors. They were sold both in sets and individually.

Thanks, Codger. The 834UH looked pretty bad in the auction pictures, but because of what it is and the BIN price of 18.99, I jumped on it before someone else discovered it. It cleaned up real nice, thankfully. Yep, 1991 is the year for the SC503 Fly Fisherman. Thanks for posting the listings for scrimshaw knives some time back, btw. It's been very helpful. I'm still trying to find the 1979 Stealhead and 1996 Salmon SC503s. Not sure if I have ever seen one before, but I'm keeping an eye out for them.

Keep an ongoing search for the 503 going in your ebay favorites and check it frequently. It happens to be pretty much a buyers' market right now and several of the 503s cycle through regularly. And... save the images of the art for the knives you seek in your computer picture files for easy ID. Few sellers know one fish from another so don't trust their descriptions of the art subject.

That was a steal on the dual shield knife but you know that I suspect! I have several DS patterns myself but would love to acquire more, especially since my 165OT anniversary edition was among those stolen last year. Thankfully I have both of the two (known) 152OT anniversary knives already. Also thankfully, I've never had the itch to acquire ALL of the scrimshaw patterns! I'm currently working my way thru the 152 pattern Scrimshaw knives. But I need to sell a bunch of Schrades to scratch that itch. I'll be putting them up in the exchange when I get a round tuit.

Thanks for the tips. Actually, I need to take a break. I went WAY over my knife budget this month. I think I'll have to skip a month and try not to even look at ebay at all so I don't get sucked into some purchases that are "too good to pass up". That's what happened this month. Like the 834UH DS. Who could walk away from that one? It's actually been like that all month. Like you said, "buyer's market". When I finally slowed down and totaled up what I spent on "too good to pass up" bargins, I felt a little ill. I am not that big of a scrimshaw guy, but I do have a list of my favorite patterns and images that I look out for and will only purchase if it's a good buy. Just out of curiosity, how come you need a round tuit to sell some knives on the exchange? :D

Oh I have to take some pictures and do some writeup stuff. And I am not much on selling though it is now required to buy any other knives and help pay for prescriptions. Those NIB Scrim Sharpfingers are cheap but not free. Same for my medicines.
