Thanks guys!!!! Does anyone know an approximate date range...70's/80's?

Just I found the same knife in a Camillus branded box on the bay. Mine's the same fine quality of my Camillus TL-29's.

Somewhere in here I remember reading that the SCC stamp was used for quite awhile for special orders etc once introduced by Baer

We've posted the Camillus S cards provided by former Camillus historian Tom Williams. A search might turn them up. I don't have them on this computer. Perhaps Larry Vickery has them handy.

A couple in today...

If one were to be so silly as to only own two knives, those two would do the job. Good score.

This matched pair of Schrade knives with BG42 blades, and made in the year 2000, would make good users.
However, there is very little said about the Schrade Lake & Walker knives, on these forums... Ken

These two knives were designed by Oregon Knife makers, Ron Lake & Michael Walker and D'Alton Holder from Arizona.
Schrade made these two knives, in limited runs of 1000 knives of each, with an etched blade (First Production Run 1-500) etched on the first 500 of each knife. Both knives were sold with a zip-up nylon bag.
Both knives had the space-age BG42 blades, and the D'holders had stag handles.
Both knives sold for $200 each, and $400 for the two knives supplied with the Display unit shown.
Schrade later made the Lake & Walker SLW2 with a stainless blade, from 2001 to 2004. (Selling of $40 each)
This is a Late Production Schrade SLW2, with the non-serrated blade.

The SLW2 knives were sold in Serrated and Non-serrated, first in a small box and later in the blue tins.

And every bit as Tacti-COOL as any of the newer knives out there, only I'll bet a lot harder to get.
Thanks for the information Ken. :)

PS, Ken, you suck for having all those nice Schrades! Just kidding man, but your collection makes me quite envious. Now for another shot of Crown in salute to you! Feel free to join me from your end of the world. Raise glass, and salute. ;)

How can one tell the BG-42 L&W from the later run with Schrade stainless steel ?
kj

The SLW1 with the BG42 blade have the serialized number stamped on the spline of the blade.
The BG42 blade is too hard to stamp the tang, so there is no U.S.A. stamped on the non-serrated blade of the SLW1.
The SLW2 production knives have both Serrated and non-Serrated stainless blade, and a U.S.A. tang stamp.
The Schrade SLW1 knife came in a Zip-up Nylon padded bag.

The SLW1's BG42 blade has a dull polished look. The SLW2's stainless blade has the sander marks.

Thank you koldgold. Brilliant explanation, all the little clues to help spot these on ebay are there.
I have to ask, what is "the spline of the blade" ? same as the spine (i.e. top surface opposite to blade edge) ?
kj

Thanks kg. i should have looked at my keyboard and see that l is by p. But, "spline" is a word and i have heard it used in different ways so i am not sure what spline means in USA and it could refer to something different in Australia.

I have just looked at eBay for "Schrade Lake & Walker". This search brings up a number of SLW2 knives, all sellers asking about $180.
I would say the SLW2 knives should be about $50-$65,
and the SLW1 if you could find one about $180 -$150 if you get lucky.. Ken.
