One of the last nice offerings from the company before they went bankrupt.
Nice. I think the 877 with the locking master blade is quite rare. Only 2nd one i've seen.

Yep. Only 1990-1991. They bring a healthy price on ebay sometimes. I got lucky on this one to replace another one I used to have. It came with box and papers too. I got it for the retail price in '91.
The price list in my 1991 Display Unit, has the 877UH listed at $34.95... Ken
Schrade was still sending those 197UHs to the dealers in January 2004.
I have an invoice for six of them dated February 2004.
I've read that Schrade had quite a lead time before they left the warehouse for the store, but fifteen years? That's interesting. Shipping knives in '04 that stopped being cataloged or price listed in '89. I guess the difference in the scales reflects that time span.
I discovered my mistake seconds after I did that post and changed / or though I changed my post to "197OTs".That's interesting. Yep, I paid $35.05 for the 877UH, 6 bucks for priority mail. I think that $17.51 is a good deal on the 197UH too. I was over due for a couple of bargains. Nice displays, btw.

I know they stopped listing the 197UH in 1989..Ken
Funny. I started to change my post but then it still says 197UH in the quote bubble, so I'm confused. I guess I don't know what a 197OT is. The 194OT ran to '04
Sadlebum, I have had a bad week, and my dyslexia is not helping.
I got mixed up with the 897UH, so I had to look in my collection for a 197UH.
Now I know what a 197UH is, and now I remember it was a hard to find knife and came in a brown box.
I have not looked at my knives in the brown boxes for many years. Sorry about the mix up... Ken
Wow ! What a knife for at least 43 years old, likely older. Probably never out of tube except for ebay picture. Are the blades carbon steel ? Or, were advertising knives stainless from ~ 1930's on ?
If carbon steel and got ugly with rust it might make the business being advertised seem shoddy, subconsciously, but it would influence your opinion.
Or, is this just too much WA. State herb ??
