G'day Ken, that knife set looks familiar mate....?..I would have thought it was the PH1 you showed not the smaller PH2 which you state. You will note not only the difference with the birdseye handle rivets but also the brass cross guard is different shape to the original Loveless designed RL2.....and RL1 white handle for that matter.....the Schrade Custom Hunter was the direct Schrade designed forerunner to the thousands of PH1's they produced with many different handle combinations....great knives in the hand...I carry one as EDU in my prospecting Camelbac...Hoo Roo

Hi Larry, The knife above is a "Custom Hunter by Schrade" the flyer calles it a "CH2 with a Suggested Retail $75.00.
I konw you have a soft spot for the early Schrade Loveless knives. Do you have a RL1 ?

This is a line up of some of my knives. The CH2 is missing. However, there is an early Schrade PH2.

quite beautiful knives do the two D'holder knives at the top have the same handle material? looks like they are way different but it might be my computer or variations in the stag?

The D'holder #1 has green wooden handle. I have three D'holder knives like #2, and they all have bone. (Stag?)
Some-one may tell us more about the Green wooden handled knife... Ken

Hi Tongueriver,I see you like nice bone.
I had an almost mint knife with a bad split in one of its’ red bone scales; so I sent it to my mate Dale and asked if he could fix it.
This is the knife Dale sent back.

Well, ebay has been my enabler this week, just bought a muskrat, bone handle Alamo edition, 2 older 340T's, and a Uncle Henry 897, got bids in on a few more as well. Going to give one to my dad as he used to carry a 340T everywhere, but these days is reduced to carrying cheap junk knives. I don't know why he carries those now, but he's going to have what he used to carry, for gelding horses, again. Hell, I think I am into the 4 I have coming for about $40 including shipping.

It took this knife here to finally get me out of hibernation. I don't have the box or paperwork, but I do have the original sheath for it though. I noticed there are several signifigant differences between the Walden and the newer models. The blade etch, the grind, the finger groves, etc.

Nice ones Bill. How do those two compare in thickness across the spine? I know the carbon steel SCHRADE USA marked example like you show was thicker than the ones that came later marked SCHRADE+

Nice one! Grind is very different indeed. Is that an "ACA" or Razor Blade Stainless type of edge I'm seeing? Thanks for posting the comparison pics. I guess there are potentially another 650+ Schrade Walden 153UH's out there. I will keep my eyes peeled. I think most of these got put to use. Mint examples will remain super-elusive.

It's definitely not the "ACA" type of edge, I have a few of those knives, and the edge sort of looks like it has been sharpened on a very coarse stone. It's a pretty fine edge, with not very many grind marks per say, a fine edge I'm trying to say.

just got a new still in the pack SP 3 with an orange handle. got it pretty cheap with a ugh Taylor knife which i am going to sell on "that site".
