What's your newest Buck knife

View attachment 1839160
Ok possibly the nicest surprise in Buck purchases to date. Looked up Kephart knives per friend’s suggestion as i had no idea what that knife or style was and i swear i had seen that before. In Buck? Well the 104 camp knife popped into my mind. It’s definitely very close looking so i ordered one and I absolutely love it.
Micarta is my favorite handle material. Perfect size and the sheath made in USA actually rides slightly higher and makes the knife seem smaller than it is. Definitely gonna order more of these.
Added note: uncle timbo i just back read and see your post on your Kephart. So strange i posted this having not read your post?
David, your 104 is growing on me. :)

Arrived today! 118 Stamped 420HC:

Had a few minutes between sales calls today so I ducked into an antique mall. Thought I had scored the grail of 112 collecting - the double dash. I should really take a small magnifying glass in with me - its a Four Dot!! But a nice Four Dot and I didn’t have one in my collection of Buck Knives. I’m guessing unused, original edge and no scratches. First knife I have bought in months too. OH

Ps I'm thinking this knife must be 425MOD as the date range is 1981-1986. Anyone know for sure? Thanks, Bruce

The data sheets in the sticky show 440C use to 1980. I'd say it's fair to guess 425M was used for your knife. If it was made during the transition then IDK if anyone could tell. Still a wonderful piece.

THIS is a 112 that was ordered in 2008 and delivered by Joe Houser at the Blade Show in 2009..When the Custom shop opened in 2008 for 112's I managed to order the first one and just before orders closed I ordered the last one. Thru a comedy of errors Joe stepped up and made this! I asked him to put any odd cool blade in it (coated blade was not available for the 112)
It turned up missing in 2015 along with 10 or so others. I was so bummed I quit active collecting until the Copper frame BCCI 112 came out 18 months later. BUT it just turned up in David's garage after a trip from Florida to Texas and back to Florida! I had left it in his car in a plastic bag with a dozen really rare shieths and another 112 when we came back in 2014. So even not exactly correct it IS my latest Buck..

Missing photo?

I was so excited to get the picture to post I hit post before I started to reply. So many of my pictures now are slightly too big. I really need to take new photos of all my 112's just to see what I have exactly. In 2008 I was totally excited about the Custom shop open for 112's. You could even order SERRATIONS which was a big deal to me as I had never seen a 112 with them. The blade is actually from a 2002 WBC LE ..In 2008 nickel silver frame 112's were hard to find and finger grooved 112's were too. So I wanted to create a instant rarity. Originally it was supposed to have a black coated blade like you could order for a 110 at the time but you could NOT order a drop point blade..So I figured NS,finger grooves, Buffalo horn, no rivets and a black coated blade with serrations would make a dramatic looking Buck. What totally shocked me was in the 5-6 weeks the Custom shop was open to 112's less than 150 were ordered. I thought it would be 5 times that amount. Still to this day you can't order a drop point or SERRATIONS on a 112 lolol!

I believe it is shown in post #3132 in this thread.

Yeah, it looks like I posted between your two posts. Sorry. I was too excited to post to wait for you :p

Nickel silver with finger grooves and partial serrated blade would be my ideal model too.
