What's your newest Buck knife

I picked up this one from the 'bay. I assume it's jigged bone rather than horn, but looks pretty nice. Desperately needs sharpening, and has a pretty good nick in the blade, but should sharpen out. Any idea if it was done by Buck or aftermarket?

Responding to my own question - looks like it's a factory knife. The Jan. 21 2024 Sunday Picture Shows has a similar one identified as Impala Bone 0110-IB-0 Cat. 8992.

I was thinking it might be factory, but that was just a guess. Really nice knife!

My 112 Auto returned today from a three-month sabbatical, so it's kind of new.

This 893 GCK 2023 Build Out arrived today from the exchange. It was advertised as a very light user with the edge touched up. There’s not a scratch on it, and you have to look real close to see that maybe it was given a pass or two on a ceramic rod. The sheath looks unused, also.

After some of the recent discussion on Cerakote and non-stainless steels, I bought this “user” with the thought I might blast the Cerakote off, use it, and see what patina develops on the 5160. But now that I have it in hand, it’s too nice to mess with.

Picked up a 112 Slim Select for the car glove box. It's been years since I owned a 112, and even though I knew the specs I was still surprised at how light this version is.

The 112 Slim Select that I bought over a year ago has the same clip point profile as my traditional 112s.

When they were on sale a couple months ago I decided to pick up another one. This one has the flatter blade profile of the Selects. I like the other profile better.

How are you liking the new knife?
I am very impressed with it. It’s heavy for its size which I really like. Fires like a rocket. Blade came sharp out of the box.

I like that the tip sits way down inside the blade well when closed. I won’t live long enough to sharpen it until the tip clears the handle and it would be a toothpick by then even if I did. (Exposed tips are one of my pet peeves)

Ergonomics are satisfactory. The Cerakote seems well applied. Edge grinds are even on both sides.

I also think the price was very reasonable for such a quality knife made in the USA. I consider the whole package money well spent. It’s an exceptional little auto.

The top three are the new arrivals.

It's nice to get the other half of the richlite pairing. The Slim Pro TRX are a nice set also. It'll be good to start carrying and using these.
I have one of the 112 Slim TRXs. I like it, but I think the thumb stud is bigger than it needs to be. It sometimes catches on the pocket when taking it out. I have to be careful, because a couple times when it caught, the knife started to open. The thumb stud on my Slim Selects is smaller, and I've never had that problem with then.

The thumbstuds are ridiculously big on the TRX. I ordered a 112 that came in with a very uneven grind and sharpen job. I was going to return it, but decided it would be a good first knife for my son. I need to send it back to Buck and have them fix the grind because there is no way I can reprofile it on my diamond stones with those big thumbstuds in the way.

Thanks for that warning. Those thumb studs are certainly big enough to get a grip on, hopefully not too large to catch for me like you experienced. They're a bit different than the asymmetrical stud on my 110 Slim Pro, but that knife doesn't have a clip and just gets dumped in the pocket. If the TRX thumb studs are press fit, it may be possible to rig something to separate them and put on something smaller.

How are the thumb studs attached to the blades of the Slim Pro TRX? I don't need to do it yet, but if they are removable, it would make sharpening at home easier.
Thanks.

A couple of my newest Bucks from BLADE show!

Buck brought a lot of pretty CKS builds, and they had some of their new knives as well. They brought twenty of these "Founder's Edition" 791s and I couldn't get my money out fast enough! I don't know whether it was twenty of each color, or just twenty total, I candidly didn't ask. They had both the large/regular and the mini size. The CKS build is a large Spitfire with Marble carbon fiber and a Magnacut blade. I love the both of these very, very much, so let's see a few pics!

What? How small was the Mini? Oh. Oh, that. It was extremely small, which is why I ultimately chose against purchasing one. Well, that, and it was $235:

For reference, I wear an XL glove!

I also picked up one of the G10 110 Autos in S30v, as they were a show special for an extremely good price, as they are switching to S35vn in their next batch and going forward! All in all, it was a great show.
Quiet Quiet , with the Ranges due to come out soon, (maybe:)), now would be a nice time for an update. Since yours is a Founder's Edition, maybe you put it away, and that's understandable. But hopefully it's been seeing some hard use the last month or so. If so, we'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
