What's your rig to get out there?

I generally use my 84 CJ-7.

I have a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 with the 2.7L inline 4cyl. 31 in BF Goodrich mud terrains.
still only 89,000 miles (lease return from the states)

Best small truck I have ever had, it was the last year of the more compact body style of the sr 5.

Just got rid of my 2003 Chevy S10 ZR2 and bought an 1983 Chevy Scottsdale for $1,000. So far she has a 6 inch lift and 35" tires powered by a 350 V8. Still working under the hood before I start on the body. Only gets like 8 mpg but she's my daily driver.

I hopefully get it back tomorrow. 1996 Chrysler Concorde sedan. To be replaced by either a Silverado or Ram by the end of the summer.

Some cool rides fellas. Mine is an 09 Tacoma 4X4 TRD Off Road. Electronic push button locker, ATRAC, oil and tranny coolers, skid plates, AC inverter, all from the factory. On the 09s and 10s you can engage the locker and ATRAC at the same time in 4 low. VVTi engine pulls any of my boats with no problem. It goes places my buddies full size trucks can't, even with lifts and tires. And it will out accelerate any of their V-8s, except for one of em's 5.7 Tundra. Still has room for four adults and gear.

sweet taco! nice to see people actually use these things as they were designed instead of grocery shopping

i drive a mitsubishi pajero/montero?
been into the Empty Quarter...(Rub Al Khali) with my baby...
got stuck first time...had to get local cops to tow me out...

nowadays...i drive!

BTW the Rub al Khali is supposedly the largest sand desert in the world...ive heard that planes dont fly over there...if you crash there...u r dead...period!

Not my actual Suburban, but same paint scheme and model. We've got stock tires on it though. 1997 Chevy Suburban 1500 with around 202xxx miles

We've also got an 6ft plow for it with hydraulic controls for PA winters since we've got a long driveway. We've managed to actually put it through a decent amount of off-roading at our old hunting cabin and plowing. Although it gets terrible MPG and is very heavy, its a great vehicle and I never have to worry about not having enough space

I've always thought these would be a lot of fun. Isuzu VehiCross. Granted I'm not sure how much Isuzu is known for reliability and quality...

MonkeyBomb
That is one good looking ride. Mine is a stock 02 TJ. I drove part of the Baja 100 in it and it had no problems. A Jeep will go places I am afraid to go.

I *so* want a machine gun on my Lexus. It would completely make the backcountry experience. All I've got is a lousy .45...

:D

Yeah, I totally missed the M-60 and infrared headlamps on the option list when I ordered the Taco.

Bought this last Thursday. It rocks ! 2010 , 4/4 , air.con. pwr.windows.

I've been trying to order the '10 Tacoma TRD Off Road for the last couple of weeks. It seems that the dealerships around here don't like to place custom orders. Dunno where I'm going to be able to buy this truck with the options I want in/on it. :(

I want the '10 version of that with 6-speed manual, Access Cab, V6, and regular length bed. I just sent Toyota an e-mail concerning these dealerships by me that don't want to order the truck for me. They want me to buy from their inventory. Screw that...

The Rubicon may be the best factory rig on the market. I'd rather have my Cruiser but I was close to getting a Rubicon. It was a close second.

Most of my camping these days is done by motorcycle. I have an '03 Kawasaki Concours for long distance touring and a Russian Ural sidecar rig for taking on logging trails and such.
