What's your threshold for "too expensive?"

Dear god, some people take knives a bit too far. $50 is a lot for a knife, and I won't touch or even so much as look at anything over about $70. I don't think you should pay more for a knife than a trip to the grocery store, or a car payment (insurance and installments). Unless you use said knife to rob somebody for money for the groceries or car payment. That way it is an investment.

So far, $117.73.

Since it took 62 years before springing for anything over about 85 clams, that's probably going to be the record. :)

Well, that's like, your opinion, man.

I dont think mine will get much higher than what Ive paid for some Zt's..Any more than that and I buy gun's..

My current knives cost below $30 (excluding kitchen knives). I'd spend a little more for a good axe. I think $50 is the limit for me. There are lots of good tools under this price.

First post! Every knife I have I use for one thing or another and so far out of the 60+ or so I own or have owned I've never spent more than 100 on. The most valuable one I have though is a B.A.S. (Big Ass Sword) my so-in-law had made in 'stan.

The most I ever spent on a knife was about a hundred, it was a Uzi USRA fixed blade, but when a szabadi knife hits the market I'm all over it

I'm not gonna bash you for saying what your thinking, but I'd like to point out that a trip to the grocery store for me runs around 250-300. My wife's car payment plus insurance run around 600 a month... Don't even worry about rent and other bills.

Me dropping a few hundred on a nice knife every other week or so is nothing :)

I buy what I like and only what I think I'll use, I insist everybody else do what makes them happy as well :)

My comfort zone is around $200-$300 max, but my most expensive knife is $375 (SNG). How times have changed, I remember when I only bought knives under $100.

Everyone spends money on something. ;)

Some like cars, some like guns, some knives, some buy gadgets like computers etc and still others buy booze or illegal substances...

Cars are a waste of money other than the fact they are pretty much a necessity in this day and age, they start depreaching the day we buy them, might as well just burn your money because they are a black hole in the end.

Guns can be a good investment depending on what is bought.

Knives are tools and can be an investment depending on what is bought and you can usually get a lot or even more than was paid depending.

Computers and other gadgets are another black hole, outdated almost as fast as they are bought.

Booze is just like pissing money away literally because that's what happens to it in the end, might as well just burn it buy that stuff.

Real Estate, well if the market is good it might be a good investment if one hangs onto it long enough.

Food is a necessity something we need and a never ending expense....

Like I said people spend money on different things and or have different interests or priorities.

I thought I had a threshold but I find it creeping up year by year. I can remember when I said 50 was my limit. To date I have spent 200 on a knife and have one on order that will end up around 300. I guess I haven't found a limit yet although I can't see paying more than 500 for a knife.....yet.
