Wheeler's Steel- The Adventure Continues!

And....?

Hey, where's the finished sheath?! I didn't spend 2 hours reading through all of Wheeler's creation of your knife and your journey in making that sheath and making outdoorsy love with your knife for it to stop right here! :p

Ok, I've been dragging ass! I'll get er finished up soon.

Congrats to you Lorien on the great Wheeler . Being new I'm late in finding this thread . I , sorry to say , am Wheeler less meaning I don't have one of Nick's knives but want one . I do know where one of his Bowies currently lives but can't talk the owner out of it :( Enjoy -

I strapped on my video camera and went out to clear some more trail this morning. Unfortunately, I must have pressed the wrong button and have no footage. It was a good one, too:grumpy:rats!

Anyway, I finished up the sheath two nights ago, after a LONNNNG time chillin on that project. Sometimes you just gotta walk away for a bit. So, now I finally have a proper sheath and can bring this GREAT knife out on more expeditions!

thanks fellas.
I treat my leather stuff with a bee's wax mixture, same stuff I use on my hiking boots. Doesn't have anything corrosive in it, so keeping my knives stored in their sheaths is no problemo.
This is by far the most complicated sheath I've made, but it works awesome- the knife clicks into place and there is no way it will come out unless I want it to. Plus, the earth magnets impart a magical cutting ability to the blade, since as we all know, a magnetized blade just cuts better.
This knife is the absolute largest I think I'd want to carry on a belt, and the bianchi clip works wicked with molle so I can attach the knife to my pack if I want.

blahblahblah...

sorry to dredge an old thread up from the depths, but the adventure continues to continue!
Imagine how stoked I was to open my new Blade magazine and, without warning, see this page;

See, this is what Coop does- he takes pics for folk, and then sends the pics along to the mags for their archive. Who knows when they'll pop up, but when they do, it's a great feeling. Thanks Coop!

So cool to have the knife, and a magazine photo.

Combine that with all the WIP photo's, and it is a real treasure!

a treasure that I use, which gives me pleasure!
holds a wicked edge, this knife. Light as a feather. Hits things just right. Easy to keep clean. Feels great. Looks awesome.
Many hours of trail use, and many more to come.

Just got a copy of that magazine myself. The wife was remarking on how gorgeous this knife was, and I showed her the whole thread where it went from paper concept to finished knife. She was blown away! That's a treasure, for sure.

Thank YOU!

Exactly. I lead the horses to water, and I hope they stop for a refreshing drink.

I'm glad for you, Lorien and Nick. Deservedly so!

Coop

that's what she said!
