When should I be worried....?

As am I. I have a purchase from Viva that was supposed to have been put in the post the same time as yours. I to have asked for a tracking # so I don't have to bug him but have not received it as of today. As was said already guess we will find out tomorrow won't we and will post when I find out.

...and the plot thickens.

.80 for peice of mind goes a long way for both seller and buyer.

unfortunately you are right and there has been a lot of GB&U stuff lately and it sucks. Especially some of them that have turned into these wierd twisted things that end up being the buyer screwing the seller (not saying thats what happened here...just an observation of GB&U). It makes it harder to sell things and makes buyers more apprehensive.

Chuka has been emailing and PMing me everyday since we made the deal and I just don't have that kind of time to sit in front of my computer. I should have communicated better, but I was working long days and was not near mine. For that I apologize.

If you do not have the time to maintain honest and open communication do NOT buy knives on BFC!!!

viva la sure found the time to type out 9 separate responses to this thread, yet still completely evade a simple and reasonable question...

Well, no knife came today as promised... the mailman just came.

Well...

to be accurate, which you are not. I said it would be in the mail twice...and then yesterday said it would be there by thursday. two completely different things. if he doesn't get it by thursday he can feel free to file a complaint with paypal. i never gave him a date when it would be in his hands until yesterday.

He said it himself. It's time to file that Paypal dispute.

no tracking number+no knife=PP dispute

unless viva la actually has the tracking, gives it to you, and it says it'll be there tomorrow, i would also suggest a partial refund, because this whole thing was a mess. life circumstances can get in the way, but he's obviously had the time to get on the computer, so communication would have helped. Otherwise stop worrying about this and just dispute it. Long overdue now

Ok I got the package today and it had a delivery confirmation # on it. Mike gave me a good deal and although a little slow in shipping he did follow through. In the future all of this could have been avoided by shooting me a email when shipped with the delivery #. I could have watched the USPS site and let him know when it was received. I will be leaving him feedback, positive with a note stating as I have here, communicate!

He got to me and said mine should be coming as well, USPS told him Thursday, maybe there was a slight delay and I'll hopefully be getting it tomorrow.

Tracking is free if you pay and print postage via USPS.com. I add the buyers email when I complete the postage. USPS emails the tracking so I don’t have too. Some amazing shit!!

This completely preventable mess could have been cleared with some communication and not attitude.

Right about now I'd say.

Just my .02 Chucka but I would cut bait on this deal. Assuming it was sent with a signature required, refuse delivery if it does show up and file your PayPal dispute right now (if you have not already).

If I found the right listing you bought a knife that was "Carried but not used much, light wear blade." right? God only knows what that thing will really look like when you get it, even if you did see pics that claimed to be of the knife in it's current condition. Do you really want to deal with this guy if you think the knife was misrepresented? I wouldn't.

As long as you do not take delivery the dispute should be a slam dunk in your favor. PayPal will require him to show that he shipped the knife, AND that you received it (including signature if over $250) or he has no legs to stand on. Once you sign for it though it can get pretty messy to try to straighten things out if needed. Especially when it was sold as used.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Update... the knife arrived today, in more or less the condition he described. Did not include the MT sheath that we had talked about pre-payment. Oh well, at this point I'm just glad to have the knife. Thanks for all the input everyone, in the end the deal turned out OK.
