When should I be worried....?

Glad it worked out for you. Not sure I'd call it an OK deal, but I can understand wanting to put this one behind you and move on. Since Viva La outed himself on this thread and showed the world his true colors, about the only positive I can see is that others know not to deal with him now.

Update... the knife arrived today, in more or less the condition he described. Did not include the MT sheath that we had talked about pre-payment. Oh well, at this point I'm just glad to have the knife. Thanks for all the input everyone, in the end the deal turned out OK.

Just to be clear: Are you saying that you did not receive a sheath that he explicitly promised to include in the deal?

Well I had asked if he "had the sheath", he responded that he did. I guess a lawyer would say that was not an explicit promise, but I had assumed it was included from that conversation. Anyways, yes the deal was less than positive, just glad it's over.

It’s a shame you had to go through this mess.

When I first came to BladeForums the Members set the Standard for how to engage in an Internet Transaction.

Some of my best interactions were with knives I returned. I was humbled by the impeccable honesty and the gracious manor in which they dealt with me.

They set the standard I can only hope to live up to.

I’m not sure if there are more problems today since so many other transactions occur without any issues.

I hope you don’t let one bad apple taint your opinion of BladeForums- there’s lots of really good people here.

Chuka, you could do what you want but if a sheath was in the deal I would have a sheath!Bust his nuts until he comes up with your sheath!

Well, sort of an odd story... it came to my work on Saturday (my day off) and my co-worker thought it would be funny to open it, take pictures and put in on Craigslist for $5. Then he emailed me a link to the posting... sooo, the package was sort of lost in the hub-bub of my workplace when I drove in to pick it up on Saturday. I'm sure it was sent out Tuesday, though. The other guy that bought a knife from viva said his was postmarked for Tuesday. I can't imagine he'd make to trips two the post office.

he shipped the package the day he said he actually shipped the package.

Speaking in the third-person? wow!

By saying the above, you actually mean the third time you promised, right?

You also completely ignored the question about a missing sheath. Awesome how you pick through all these postings, yet never directly answer the important questions that would actually help to reestablish any credibility for yourself.

Man this guy has made me never want to buy a knife online. I'll stick to overpriced stored to know my knife is in hand.

While this nonsense has been going on, large numbers of perfectly satisfactory online transactions have happened.

Wow, I got my popcorn out on this one. If you say you are going to do something, then do it. Be a man of your word. Of course, people get ultra tired after working all day and some might not wish to wait in traffic to get to the post office. These holiday transactions can be testy.

What kind of sheath was it? Was it like the red rubber one with a hose your Grandma had hanging on the back of the bathroom door when you were a kid?

Because that is what I picture when I read Viva's posts.
