Where Did You Get Your User-Name/Handle?

I have a tattoo of Ferdinand the bull, my mom read us the story a lot. When I signed up here I wasn't savvy on using real names and Ferdinand is easy to remember, now that I'm home I'm slowly getting my tattoos redone by a professional but Ferdinand will stay.

When I was in elementary school and I started playing Runescape, I had to think of a name. I liked Ferraris and thought they were cool, so I checked if it was available. Of course, it wasn't, and they suggested various FerrariXXXX (with the Xs being numbers) and one of the suggested names was ferrari353 so I picked it,and that's been my name everywhere ever since.

I was really big into turkey hunting a few years ago when I joined the forums. I've turkey hunted in five states and got my Grand Slam- which is harvesting 4 subspecies of the wild turkey (eastern, osceola, merriams, and rio). I was using grandslam as my user name on a couple forums but it wasn't available here. So since I'm from Kentucky and was into turkey hunting I used kyturkey

Arrow was taken so I went with with Eero which if you mispronounce it right sounds like 'Arrow'. Pretty simple and meaningless really. My real name is Jordan

I studied Psychological Warfare at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.

I mugged a Norman at Hastings.

Nice ! Bloody Normans were luck, Godwinson and his crew finished off a Norwegian invasion in the north of England then marched south to Hastings straight away and fought for 10 hours

Years ago I was at a friends house, I'm close with the whole family really, and the father of the family is an old farmer and rancher. We were all sitting around and he asked me if I'd ever seen Bonanza. I said that I hadn't and he told me there was a character on the show named Adam. And then he said the words that will live in infamy: "You look more like Hoss though." We all just kinda looked at each other as if something had clicked into place. I didn't realize at the time how popular the nickname actually was. So when I started getting active in forums I tried to sign up with "hoss" which was either taken or too short so I eventually settled on "bigghoss" (this was before Pawn Stars). You might catch me on several other boards like pirate4x4 or thefiringline. If "bigghoss" is taken I'll usually throw on a rifle caliber on the end like 762 or sometimes 556. On youtube I'm "bigghoss762"

A funny story that compliments that one is a friend of my dad used to own a little cafe in my old hometown. The food was pretty good so I went in for breakfast one morning (this was some time after I had became well known as "hoss"). I was alone so I sat at the counter and the owner's husband recognized me. He said hi but couldn't remember my name so I told him it was Adam. After we had exchanged pleasantries and he left an old timer sitting near me at the counter turned and asked me: "Ya ever seen that show Bonanza?" I said no and recounted the story of how I got my nickname. We talked and he told me about how they had an annual rodeo in Moses Lake, Washington (a few hours drive from where we were) and they would usually get an actor from the show Bonanza to come out and make an appearance. Allegedly one year Michael Landon was supposed to show up but when it was time for him to make his appearance he was too drunk to get on his horse. The crowd was so angry they ran him out of town!

I still haven't seen an episode of Bonanza.

Faiaoga means "schoolteacher" in Samoan, and I was a Peace Corps schoolteacher in Western Samoa. As a volunteer living with a Samoan family in the village, I had a chance to learn something about how Polynesians live in and with their environment. I was fortunate to have had the experience.

To me, discussions of the best "survival knife" sometimes seem a little irrelevant - a "sapelu" (bush knife or machete) is the only survival knife a village Samoan will ever need.

I was a milatary armorer since 1987. I have been shooting USPSA pistol competitions since 1990. I started gunsmithing on my competition pistols as soon as I started USPSA. So do you get it? 2011BLDR (builder).

My first PC was an Acer brand and the first time I needed a user name for a forum I was clueless.
I looked down at my keyboard and there was a little logo that said "Acerpower" I've been using the name ever since.
I no longer own an Acer PC, nor doI care for the brand, but I've been using the name for years and on countless forums so I keep using it.

It's kind of lame, but at least it's never been used by anyone on any forum I've visited yet.

I have been studying Chung Do Kwan, a style of Tae Kwon Do very close to Shotokan karate, and Judo for over 25 years. Judoka means judo player or practitioner.

My story is lame
My name is Nikki, my last name starts with an R. Boom. NikkiR.
Usually my handle is yetirage, because I'm from Alaska, tall and have big feet, people started calling me yeti. Buuut, just thought I would go by my actual name this time around.
