I ordered a knife from a compamy who i will not name yet,,,everyone should know...anyway i ordred on the 26th of october and as of today the 6th of november i dont have my order, it was shipped first class and it should have takes 3-4 days, 5 max according to the post office, i guess it should be 4. I have no tracking number and no response to 2 emails and 2 calls, i am ready to challenge the charge if i dont have it on monday, i think.....what do you all think

Yep,,since the 26th when i ordered, the order is "no longer editable" as it has shipped or reached the final stages of processing??for 9 business days???come on now...i just sent them a message on their you tube channel

I've had that happen to me a few times and in both cases I was told my knife was not in stock (yet they still took my money). I received refunds and I never did business with either retailer again. I hope yours is really on its way.

Do they have a phone number?

Did you look in GB&U subforum for reviews of the seller before you ordered from them?

actually no,,i ordered LAST night, if it went out TOADY i might have it monday or tues,,,since it was shipped priroity...sp

wait a few weeks, sometimes it takes way longer than expected, it's more than likely the post office at fault, but make sure not to wait beyond any complaint period or similar thing the site might have. I ordered a knife on the 28th and it hasn't come yet but I'm in Canada so :D

Make sure it was in stock when you placed your order. Some places will have items look available but in reality they are a pre-order, on backorder, or being purchased straight from the manufacturer at the time you place your order.

I try to make sure items I'm buying are in stock (physically in stock) when I order online.

This may be moved to GB&U really soon....:)

First of all, this General Knife Discussion forum is for discussing knives, not dealers. That goes in FEEDBACK, where I will move this.

Second, I wouldn't wait 3 weeks. You're going on 2 weeks already. Give them one more chance by email and phone and make it clear: no response and you will cancel your payment.

Third, for Jesse D.L., thanks for your confidence in us lazy thieving postal workers, but no, it is not automatically the postal service's fault.

That was what I meant on post #4. I won't deal with companies whose site is not accurate regarding stock on hand.

For those who regularly order things from the internet, it's inevitable that you'll run into fakes who don't send the items you ordered and just try to take your money. For knives, I find that running a search of the site's name on these forums is helpful in seeing if the seller is genuine or not. For everything else, I prefer to buy off of eBay or Amazon because of the reviews/feedback left by other people. If I absolutely HAVE to buy from another site, I prefer to limit my purchases to sites that use Paypal, as it has always been through Paypal that I got my money back(it admittedly takes a while, but you get every penny back).

It also helps to look for the BBB(or similar) approval link on the site.

If you purchased from the site because there was an exceptionally good deal on a knife there, remember the mantra "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

I've found that to be true myself. Every time I've seen a knife at a site with a significantly lower price than all the competition, that knife was not in stock but on "back order".

Just give them a call Monday and find out whats up. If its dealer you think all of us should know, then they should have a phone number, and will take care of you monday.
I wouldn't worry to much about it.

BTW- I assume you did confirm that it was an in stock item before ordering.

I always order and sell through PayPal. They have always resolved any issues I have had with sellers and buyers. Sometimes you have to be patient.

Esav, Let me go to the other side of the coin . . Two weeks ago, I ordered my first ESEE knive (a Junglas) from Howe's Knife Shop in Michigan. I got off the phone with Jim @ 3:10pm on Friday afternoon, & Monday morning I had a delivery attempt notice my knife was at my local post office waiting on me. The last 4 or 5 internet orders have taken usually 2-3 days maximum to get here, & this also includes an order from the west coast.
Be safe.
