where is my order??

I've found that to be true myself. Every time I've seen a knife at a site with a significantly lower price than all the competition, that knife was not in stock but on "back order".

Not always true.
Take The Cutlery Shoppe: nobody beats Jeff on Spyderco prices and yet his site is almost always up-to-date. And he only charges you when he is about to ship.
Same with KnifeWorks, very few dealers beat them on Benchmade prices, and yet they are just awesome to deal with.

Now take eBay: SpydieGuys were among the priciest, and they sucked to the point of qualifying for my hall of shame.
On the other hand, Poor Fish has excellent prices and offer great service.

First of all, this General Knife Discussion forum is for discussing knives, not dealers. That goes in FEEDBACK, where I will move this.

Second, I wouldn't wait 3 weeks. You're going on 2 weeks already. Give them one more chance by email and phone and make it clear: no response and you will cancel your payment.

Third, for Jesse D.L., thanks for your confidence in us lazy thieving postal workers, but no, it is not automatically the postal service's fault.

sorry...

You have to learn which dealers have proven themselves to be reliable. There are lists of good dealers out here. I would not want my knife shipped via first class mail. It would have to be priority mail or UPS........which seems to be standard for most reputable dealers.

NOW i am pissed,,i just learned this morning that my order is back ordered,,there was no indication of a back ordered item on the site 13 days ago, now the item is off of the site, Ive called 6 times left 3 messages still no calls back the phone always goes to voicemail and this is during the time they say the that they answer the phone.

Knives Ship Free ship first class. They are still an outstanding vendor, from my personal experience, but they do not ship priority. I've had other vendors use first class, as well. It is not always an indication of a poor seller.

I am asking for a refund,,,its a day short of two weeks, like i said i just found out this morning, its backordered, now its gone from the site????WTF

If you used a credit card, do not allow much time to pass before you go the the CC company seeking a chargeback. It is common practice for some scam artists to take you $$ with no intention of ever delivering anything. I think you have a good indication that the vendor you chose is not trustworthy--whether they merely are both slow and inattentive, or outright thieves does not really matter when they have your money and are not responding. Keep copies of all communication to share with your CC company.
all da best,
rats...

Why don't you just name the site? I sure as hell don't want to order from them if they are doing this. This is what this portion of the forums is for. Just give us the name and we will be forewarned.. and if they make it up to you any way follow it up in the post.

I agree that it would be nice to have a name. Don't feel like you'd be destroying this guy's good name for no reason. The truth is I've bought a lot of knives from a guy whose reputation on here is less than perfect. He's an honest guy and has always gotten me my stuff. He's just not great at communicating and has put some people off. If people think they may want to buy from him they can do a search here and know what to expect. Same with your guy. If he is a great seller than you may get your mind put at ease. Or you might get told that you probably just got ripped off. JMHO.

my error in spelling
sorry
Thanks for clearing that up.

First off, honest dealers won't charge your credit card until the order is ready to ship.

Second, I think you should contact your credit card company right away and reverse the charges. No sense communicating further with the scammers, and no reason to give them any more chances. :grumpy:

i still have not gotten a response since this afternoon about my request to refund my money? I hope i get it.

I hope you get your money get too! I would pay close attention to the advice in the first quote above. Or did you pay with PayPal? Read through the thread in the second quote also. These guys don't have a very good reputation here. I would not suggest placing a second order with them if I were you. Good Luck!
