Where the snark is the snark?

I'd appreciate any prayers you might have to spare for my Mother-in-law. Last Saturday one of her legs gave out, and by Sunday afternoon it had been determined that she has cancer between the lobes of her brain.

She's scheduled for laser surgery tomorrow, Friday, at noon. Supposedly it's minimally invasive and the doc's has done thousands of them, but it's still cancer, and it's still brain surgery.

Thanks,

John

Thanks for the thoughts, prayers, smoke, etc. The mother-in-law's surgery went well. There will be radiation and chemo in the future but we are thrilled with today's results.

TBL hope the littles feel better soon.

WW - sorry about the truck situation. Hope something good at a great price shows up for you soon.

Well, I'm late to the party - as it were - so I'll offer up my best wishes for a speedy recovery & the intestinal fortitude she'll need for the chemo instead. I'm glad for you all (especially your wife) that her surgery went well.

. Is this normal?

I took that badass truck back to the dealership last night.

They called me yesterday saying they couldn't get the interest rate we already signed for, they wanted to raise my payments... After we signed the contracts.... And then when I get to the lot, over an hour away, they wanna talk about new deals we can make or other trucks we can look at.

I handed him the keys and told him I wouldn't trust anything he says now and walked out.

So I'm back shopping for a truck. Although I also looked at a couple jeeps.... But I'm pissed about the truck... It was sweet. The payments they wanted weren't though.

New trucks are cool, but payments suck.
I'd say look at some decent 68-72 Chevy's or Ford's.
Easy to work on. Cheap to work on. But that's the trade off...there's usually something to work on. Lol.
All I know is that not having a car payment is way more satisfying than shelling out a payment every month.
Leaves a whole lot more play money every month!!

Haha...indeed. I miss the details by browsing with my phone.

WW, I'd definitely be looking cheaper or for no car payment. It's so nice being able to give that payment to yourself every month, instead.

I've been saying this for years.

dunk - best of luck!

WW - post feedback on the Toyota website and the FB page for this dealership -- you'll get attention from a different dealership, and/or this yahoo will call you with a sob story deal.

If you signed a contract, the aggrement was legitimately inked. They CANNOT, back out of it. There is no excuses or legal thing they can do about it. Go back and get your truck. My mother worked in law for 30 years. I asked her about it. She said if a contact was signed, there is no backing out. You or them.

Happy anniversary. Just made it back home after a vacation with some friends in Virginia. Nice trip, but good to be home.

Thanks y'all!
It's been a gooden'
I've grown quite a bit since I posted that, and so has she. My little girl (2.5 yrs) is learning knife safety (from daddy) in the kitchen with a bk14, and I'm happy to announce that while my wife still doesn't like knives much (as in outdoor or tactical), I still get sweet steel from my folks as gifts! :)
It's our 6th year, so I still got time to corrupt-convert her to the functional beauty of sharpened steel! :)
(And it'll probably be an AR before a glock, as I got a Kel-tec pf9 (from said awesome folks!) for Christmas!)

OK, so crazy story....

Yesterday afternoon i get a call from the finance man, Who tells me he needs another signature on something we missed... I say, what the hell you mean i took your truck back last night....Then he says, what do you mean you brought it back, then i tell him about the salesman calling me and changing the finance terms so i brought the truck back, then he tells me nothing ever changed so it must have been bad communication, and he wanted me to come back and get the truck at the rate and payments already agreed upon just needing one signature.....

But.... Instead i went to another Toyota lot.... explained my story and told them if they could beat the deal, id much rather NOT deal with someone who already lied to me. Ended up with the same exact truck, the XP package with same rims and running boards, Sticker price on this one was 2500 more than the one i just took back, STILL got this one for LESS than the original deal on the one i just took back, and a better finance rate then what i agreed to before they tried to raise it. With a payment about 50 bucks a month cheaper!!!! Thats a good bottle of whiskey there!!!

Only thing... They didnt have that metallic gray.... Had to go with white... But for the deal i got i was happy to sign!!

Not the best picture... Darkness came quick tonight!!

Say hello to # 3, and hopefully the last :D
