Where the snark is the snark?

I have a set of picks that I keep in a nylon leatherman sheath. It has about tiny pouches that make it nearly ideal to repurpose to the job. I'd post a pic, but I honestly have no clue where the camera is. tension wrenches are made of the spring on windshield wiper blades. picks from jigsaw and hacksaw blades. (though they probably need annealed after grinding seems like every time I let anyone else use them, I end up making new ones to replace breakage).

I got my sleeve from Nix yesterday... HOLY JEEZ this thing is AMAZING! I'm absolutely in love with it!

HI GUYS! In on... whatever this is... 4? 3? Whatever

I have a lock pick set as well (YAY Part of the "in crowd") padlocks and door knobs aren't too hard. Haven't done any dead bolts just yet but I will. I got some good instruction from Chance last time he was at Ethan's so that was nice to get the hands on explanation. I'm in the same group of guys that have the Southord as it was just a starter set. Eventually I will get some better ones I'm sure. I just haven't as of yet.

See ya guys on Monday

(Welcome back clich! It's good to see you around!)

What's the sleeve for? Tablet?

Well I'm now legally able to drive a vehicle as long as I've got an adult with me.

I'm sadly in the same boat after getting 2nd dwi years ago.:p Finally paid off reinstatement fees and got permit. Road test in 2 weeks.

Unbelievable PITA not being legally able to.drive as adult. Cousin stole my last car and haven't saved so gonna be months/half year before can get a ride.

Happy for ya Nos. You got a vehicle already?

Congrats man, that's awesome!

My son abandoned his broken down car at a mechanic so me and a bud went to get it because they wanted to charge $100/to haul it to the scrap yard! I cleaned it out and found a made in USA lock pick kit with about 8 picks. I've been wanting to try it out so.. It's mine now!

Any good site or vids for beginners?

Me too. :D

I was really stupid and let my drivers license expire for a few years. Now I have to take the test again. I went and took the written test and got my permit. About that time my wife took our Tahoe on a long trip without checking the oil. Boom went the engine. Now our only car is her scion TC. Its like squeezing into a coffin. I have to open the sunroof to fit inside. I hate that thing. And its all I have to take my driving test in. Its more like having a car stuck to my butt than being inside a car.

I went about 8 years without my license and didnt have to take ANY type of test to get my license back. Not even a physical... After not being allowed to drive for years... they just gave it back no questions asked... They didnt even ask to see my release to drive again...

I wasnt allowed to drive because of a head injury in the army that resulted in seizures... After 8 years, 5 years seizure free, i was diagnosed/considered cured and told i could drive again. I figured they'd make me take all the test again and jump through hoops.... I was in and out the DMV in less than 15 minutes with a license.

Then again i dont think anything was "filed" with the DMV back then. I was just told not to drive, and i wasnt going to take that risk anyways so i listened....But man am i glad to be back on the road again! I love driving, especially on back roads!

Throwing a 32" LED light bar in the lower grille of my truck next. Waiting for the ups to deliver the lightbar now.... The red LEDs for the eyes in the grille are suppose to be delivered tomorrow. The mounting brackets are being custom made and i wont get them for another 2 weeks prolly. Going to be hard staring at the lights and having to wait.

I dont know how to wire this crap, so im waiting till i have everything so i can pay a local shop to wire everything up for me.

Haha! Oops...
Enjoy that XM18 Clichas!:D

I don't know why, but "clichas" sounds mildly pornographic.

Welcome to the cult of the road warrior, Dawson.....just remember that piloting any kind of automobile is the easiest way to die or get injured, then drive like your life depended on it - because it does. But it's still a great freedom. I'm just jaded because I have to drive too much for work, much of it in Boston now - and MA drivers - and Boston drivers in particular - are quite unique in their ability to to pull wildly unpredictable and dangerous driving maneuvers without batting an eye as to everyone else they place in jeopardy. Just today I had a gentleman swerve across three lanes of traffic so he wouldn't miss his exit making everyone decelerate rapidly (slam the brakes) and then when I looked over at him he flipped me off. Charming.

Maus: sorry for the loss of your truck. I've been driving a rental for the last few weeks while my work "truck" has been getting repaired (city plow hit it while it was parked and did some heavy $$ damage) and it's been so nice. Getting the Ford Transit back Monday - and I feel for you. I'm 5'-9" and the seat is jammed up against the cargo barrier. Plenty of headroom, but if your inseam's longer than 30" I don't know how on earth you'd drive one. For a "truck" it certainly feels more like a sh!+box.

Thanks Ulf. No vehicle yet but I've been looking for one. I keep hoping dad will eventually give up on finding a good used truck for cheap and just tell me I can use the Jeep. :D

That sucks your other car got stolen. Hope you can find a good one soon.

Exciting time. You are about to enter a whole new level of freedom. Good for you Dawson.

I'm sorry for your predicament but the mental image of a large bearded ban with his head sticking out of the sunroof got me laughing. :D

Thanks. Within a few minutes of driving I passed a tractor trailer on a narrow road and that's about the time I realized "I'm going 60 miles per hour in a screaming metal deathtrap and that giant thing could have crushed me like a bug." So I understand what you mean. :D
