Which company makes your favorite edc

Folders it's typically CRK, Spyderco or Cold Steel, occasionally Benchmade.
Fixed blades it's usually TRC, Spartan, Attleboro
Multi-tool I prefer Vic Swiss tool, sometimes Leatherman ARC, Wave or Surge
Light I carry Surefire Stiletto Pro or Pro II
Slip joint is usually a GEC or CRK Impinda

I feel like Spyderco is the Wrangler or Levi’s of the pocket knife world. Dependable, excellent quality for what you pay, not too crazy expensive, “it just works.”

Just skip the Byrd knives. Don’t even touch them with a 10 mile pole.
I'm a handgun guy and Spyderco reminds me of Glock. Not much to look at but they are so good.

Glocks: They look like you carved em right out of a 2x4. Blocky and fugly but dependable.
My favorite EDC makers are CPK for fixed blades and CRK for a folder as long as it is a Sebenza and the thumb studs are changed out. Otherwise it’s been Microtech for folders

Spyderco found that proper heat treat is what makes the knife. Their heat treating for main stream production knives is amongst the best. But im not saying anything that others havent said before.

Their ergonomics also deserve praise. I absolutely can’t remember where I read this, but to paraphrase, apparently Mr. Glesser designs his knives for the hand rather than the eye. Or basically function over form.

And I agree with that based on handling the knives. The Para 3 and Tenacious are small knives, but it’s amazing what they could do even with limited knife handle real estate.

Spyderco also completely nailed geometry. When so many others make thick, overbuilt pocket bricks, Spyderco builds knives with blades thin enough to slice perfectly but not so thin as to be fragile.

For my part, I usually carry a locking folder by Spyderco or Cold Steel paired with a slipjoint by GEC.

I have so many brands that I do carry. I have so many that a masterful pieces of art and fit and finish.

However, if you made me pick something out of the box sight unseen and roll with it? Cold Steel.

I have so many knives that are much better fit and finish and of premium materials, but honestly when I want a knife that will take whatever I throw at it? It's really hard to beat a Cold Steel.

Which company makes your favorite edc ?

That's not easy to answer , for me . Varies a lot . 😕

But in recent times , if I carry a fixed , it is usually a DMC , David Mary David Mary

I will often carry a large Cold Steel folder , along with a smaller lightweight Spyderco .

But ...other brands go into the mix, at will or whim , so I've got no simple answer . 🤷‍♂️

CRK is the easy answer, given that I own 12; or Jason Guthrie, as my Scout checks off a lot of boxes…

But now? The Ansø Aros from his “Shop Built” collection, which has been pretty much the only knife I’ve carried since one landed in my collection a couple of months back. Sure, it’s small, but I live in NYC so a 5” fixed blade isn’t gonna cut it, it you’ll pardon the pun. It’s lightweight, hair-popping sharp, has excellent ergos (despite its size), the absolute best detent and action I have ever experienced in a button lock, and a level of fit and finish that goes above and beyond the already lofty expectations that Ansø conjures up.

And the best part? Thanks to its internal “chassis” construction, the scales are a breeze to swap out. Right now I have carbon fiber, jade G10, orange G10 and clear Lexan, and I’ll be adding titanium to the mix just as soon as Jens and his team get around to making some more.

Regards,
Adam
