if you had a cap of $300 , which folder would you buy and why ?

I'm in this situation right now. I'd like to keep it around $300 max. But I'd go a bit higher if the knife was that seductive.

Personally-speaking , I don't like flippers , liner locks or knives under 4" closed.

It is a flipper but the blade is 4.1 inches long and it is a framelock the ZT0452cf. It is a sweet knife.

What are you using this knife for?

With your preferences, and with a budget of around $300 I'd get a Socom Delta. Good cutter, lightweight, pocket friendly contours & size. You could probably find a lightly used or LNIB one around $225-240.

1+ for the SOCOM Delta... Especially if you can find the clip point model. Thats one I regret selling.

Aside from the Slysz Bowie that we've talked about previously, the first thing that came to mind was the ZT0562CF is a really nice piece for $240. When I look at my BM761, Slysz Bowie, and ZT0562CF together the ZT is the biggest and baddest of that bunch and doesn't give up anything in quality of materials, for $60 less than either of the other 2. Fit and finish honors would go to the Slysz IMO but still I think the ZT is pretty awesome, especially for the $$.

It will be an edc. Cutting everything from 1" nylon nautical line to thin gauge wire to canvas. My currents faves vary a great deal. I'm liking the Spyderco K2 , Slysz Bowie , BM 710 , BM Vicar and Lion Steel TiSpine. But I'd like to hear about any others you guys think would fit the bill nicely. I want to buy brand new as opposed to used.

Benchmade 581, $200, and use the rest of the budget for custom scales, etc.

Beautiful scales. What kind of wood is that ? And how's the Axis lock been treating you ? I've been reading some Axis horror stories in another thread. But I'm taking it all with a grain of salt.

I sure like my Ti Military! There is also a S90v frame lock millie coming out soon...

I'm beyond excited for the KW S90V Military. But who knows when that will arrive. I'm on the list. And if I could locate a new Fluted Ti Military I'd be thrilled. I really like frame locks.

Someone mentioned the ZT-0562-CF and that thing looks great. Not sure about the wave feature though. I take the clips off all my knives so I don't want anything snagging my pocket.

ZT 550 Gen 3 and pimp it -new scale. It is is very nice frame lock for $165-190 except the ugly G10 scale, Here is mine after pimping wit ha new scale and titanium hardware on the Ti side:

I don't have one, I found the picture while googling, it appears to be maple burl wood.
sorry for the confusion ;)

Any Small Sebenza ($350 new; you could probably score one for around 3 bills if you watch the Forum). Here's my small 21 Insingo:

Seriously, if I were going to spend that kind of money on a knife I would get some man jewelry to brag about. Take a long hard look at William Henry knives. They are stunningly beautiful and very useful. You can easily spend $350 and up to $20,000 or more.
