Which Folder Would You Buy For $300

RamZar , that ProTech looks sick ! How's their reputation for quality , fit and finish , etc ?

Sonnydaze , the Slysz Bowie is in my top three now. I've read nothing but excellent reviews and comments about it. And I've been meaning to get a little more hands-on experience with Carpenter steel.

I'm also wondering if the Spyderco K2 is too big to edc. Looks like a beast. Whereas the Slysz Bowie seems much more pocket-friendly. And the slimness of the BM 710 is very appealing as well.

ProTech has great quality in all that they make. I have two TR-3, two TR-4 and several Runt & Sprint California-legal automatics.

K2 is a very flat folder so although it's long it carries well. It is big though.

Slysz Bowie is just the best Spyderco I've ever had!

I was leaning very heavily toward getting a 710. But the Slysz Bowie and K2 are winning me over as of late.

Also , does either the Slysz Bowie or K2 have a piece of the blade tang exposed when the knife is in the closed position that acts as a glass breaker like the Umnumzaan ?

The KW exclusive Benchmade 710 is very nice with M390 and black/blue G-10. The first batch had a bit of the blade tip sticking out but they fixed it in subsequent batches. Also, the price is only $170 now compared to $200 when it first came out.

Neither do.

Excellent.

You have all of those ? A pic with all of them would be great. And a D2 710 if you have it. Thanks 😀

Wow , RamZar those pics are outstanding. Thank you for posting them. In every other picture I saw of the 710 M390 the blue and black G10 always looked washed out and faded. But yours looks bright and vibrant. Did you do anything to it ?

Also , which is your favorite edc of the bunch ?

Just wiped it with a polishing cloth before the picture!

EDC favorite would be one of the two smaller ones: Slysz Bowie over TR-4 due to lighter weight but TR-3 is actually smaller in the pocket. The TR-3 that I actually carry is partially serrated for those times when I think I need it.

K2's titanium is stonewashed. It scares people when it comes out of the pocket!

At $300 the Three Sisters Forge beast is a great knife, I love mine. At $250 the Southern Grind bad monkey is really cool. When spending this kind of money, I prefer something unique vs a gussied up production knife.

Call me a fan boy if you must but put me in the camp of the used Sebenza (large or small) depending on your intended uses, typical manner of dress and preferences.

On my list right now: Lionsteel TRE, Ti spine, Viper Odino, ZT 0452cf, ZT 0620cf, Pohl Force Mike One, CRK Sebenza (small)

All excellent choices. My LionSteel TRE direct preorder should arrive in 2-3 weeks. At U.S. dealers sometime in June.

I'd look for a sebenza, SnG or I've always liked the ZT 0301. That spyderco K2 looks pretty tough as well.

If i had $300 right now to spend on folding knives i'd buy a zt hinderer for between $150-200, as much good stuff as i hear about em; and spend the other $100 on a Kizer 4421a2 because I want a kizer, been hearing good things about 'em and I think that model is sexy.
