Which folder would you take?

I`m probably a little biased, but I`ve been beating the daylights out of the bottom one in the top photo for a couple of weeks, and it`s holding up fine.

My choice would be the large one here too. I would definitely not be worried about being under-knifed and with the O1 steel, I know it will hold up.

I have been carrying this Laconico custom now for several weeks. I have to say it's the most satisfying folder I own. Nice big handle, smooth, strong lock-up, 3/16ths thick FFG blade, convex grind, enough belly for most tasks, O1 steel. Impeccable Laconico fit and finish.

I need to show some current pics, it's taken on a very nice patina..........

If It HAD to be a folder to include SAK's, I would take my....Victorinox Farmer..

...wait...maybe my Leaterman Wave, a few extra blades wouldn't hurt. A hard decision there.

If it had to be a single blade folder, I would take my Sogzilla.

My choices were based on knives I own. Might be a different story if I chose a Grail folding knife:D

Id take the Gerber Gator. I used it on a multiday hike deep in the swedish forests, and it served me just fine. The handle is one of the most ergonomig ive ever seen on a outdoor folder.

Have you checked out the Cold Steel American Lawman? It's very similar to the Recon 1, but slightly smaller with a more comfortable handle and a thinner edge geometry.

Probably one of my Spyderco Enduras. My FFG VG-10 model would probably suffice, though the ZDP-189 model would be tempting. A Spyderco Chinook would be nice, but I sold my original one long ago and they aren't made anymore. I also have a Lil'Temperance model which would be ideal, but they are rare and almost impossible to replace these days and I'm not as inclined to carry it. I'd probably prefer a Spyderco Superleaf over any other design, if I had one.

If multi-tools are to be considered, a Victorinox Spirit would be hard to beat, with that excellent saw, metal/wood file, scissors and pliers.

If I limit myself to my current collection and to single blade folders, I'd probably take my EKA Swede 60 with me.

If a SAK is allowed, then it would probably be the Soldier.

For locking bladed folders, either one of my 110s,Sere 2000,or my Dozier Buckhunter. In a Vic sak,a Huntsman would do.For a multi,I would pick my LM Charge Ti.

I am realy liking my new Leatherman Wave.

But if we are talking single bladed folders it would be

I would take a Buck 110. Mainly due to the fact I have done everything I have done with a fixed blade of equal size and haven't had any major damage done to it. If I were to choose a modern folder, I'd likely choose one of the customs that were above. Possibly a CS.

I would take a Vic Swisstool..but it's not probably what we're looking for here... in that case I'd take a Pertemet balisong puukko... but it folds wrong so we're not allowed to go with that one... I have tried numerous folders and none have been satisfying. Either the locks have failed, the ergos have been dissapointing or they didn't cut with enough efficiency to justify their carry. Im still on a lookout for a candidate :)
