Which folder would you take?

ill be honest my $30 RAT Ontario 1 folder has been superb. easy to sharpen and holds the edge OK.. you can get this thing pretty sharp in no time. i have abused mine and still works flawlessly. i think its the best folder for that price range. Aus 8 steel

I see no reason my regular EDC wouldnt work in the bush.
Granted,I have yet to try it,but seems strong enough
to handle the work.Strider SnG
It has a choil that you can put your finger up
close to the blade for some fine detail work.
Handles rather well.

I do have a Spyderco Paramilitary which
I thought would be a nice "camp" knife
but its so thin,I bent the tip scraping paint out of a screw hole.
(no more spyderco for me)

Nice thread

If I could take a buck 110 and a sak farmer I would be set. If only carrying one folder it would be the sak OHT.

vik Forrester or Wenger 1st gen Ranger for multi-tools
Svord Peasant for single blade

Just got my CS Lawman in today. This would be the one I would take. Really like this blade:

If it's a folder limited to non-multi-tool's, then my Cold Steel American Lawman is my 1st choice. I've batoned with it, whittled with it, sliced and diced with it - and still kept a great edge. Touch-up's are quick and back to a 1-pass shaving sharp edge. For ~$60 there is no better value.

Anyone I have in my collection including this old slipjoint really.

I have started so many fires with this I can barely remember and it can skin, help set traps and make fuzz sticks like crazy!

1066vik,

I was curious as to why the Wenger Ranger 1st gen? I have what I call a 1st gen and it has a clipped point primary blade. I am always careful using it as I am leary of breaking the blade. I am getting ready to try one of the newer drop point versions. I am not poking at you just curious as to the choice.
