which Golok?

I would love to test the Farmer. I now have two more goloks to compare it to, a Valient and a Martindale. It would be a Golokganza Chop-Off. :D

PM me your addy, it'll be in the mail on Wednesday:thumbup:

HD, Plz post the review for all to see. No keeping it to yourself or just amongst a few. Tell it like it is and may the best one win!

Logic and experience tell me that the longest golok will out chop the others, all other things being equal. That may not make it the best. Comfort, balance, ease of use all come into play. A golok might "win" in one category and lose in another. Price is another consideration. Since some goloks come sharp and others must be sharpened by the user, that is another very important consideration. I cannot do an "out of the box" comparison, because I have sharpened some of them already. I can make sure that they all have comparable edges. You can be sure I will tell it like it is.

This Is gonna be Great ! I cant wait for the Golokganza Chop-Off, My Money Is on the David Farmer Golok !

I have David's first golok which later became "dangerous curves" and it is brilliant! Had a BRKT golok one of, then their regular production golok and was not impressed, so I sold 'em.
I am a long time user of condors and like them a lot, but have never used their soon to be available golok. I also am a long time user of valiants survival golok large and small.
So who wins?
Which do I pick up most??
The Dfarmer...
be safe... Ted

I'm pretty sure that David has two Model's of Golok the Standard design, And the Dangerous Curve's Is called the Golok Jr. same Total Length and Blade length the Dangerous Curve's has a different Blade & Handle design, I've got the Dangerous Curve's on Order, But there Is two Golok Style's Listed In his Site,
http://dfarmerknives.com/My_Work__EDC_and_large_.html After my Dangerous Curve's get's done I'm gonna Order his Parang Next, I like the Style & Quality of David's Knife making,

Tony M-

You are the one that got this whole Farmer Golok craze happening in the first place. If it wasn't for you there would be one less blade in that review I did. Thanks again it's people like you that make this forum what it is. See you in couple of weeks if it all works out.

Thanks Tony and BTD. The DC has been a great piece. I have made 3 for me and have let them all go. I have sold close to 12 of the DC and have heard nothing but good things. I also need to hear some concerns, as well. That will only help the design.

I have the Golok and Klewang used in the article. I have some needs for them (I want to put them on my table at a couple of gun shows) then I would be willing to let some folks play with em for a while....

These are 3 other choppers I am working on, the Talibong, the Pira, and the Hog Hunter (the top one).

These New Chopper's are Nice David, I can see now the Talibong Is gonna be on my To Get List, And the Hog Hunter, It Dwarf's the Side Arm pictured on the bottom, I like these New addition's to the DFarmer Knive's lineup ! I'm really likeing the Hog Hunter,

Has anyone used the Bangkon from Traditional Filipino Weapons? I just noticed that they offer a golok shaped blade.

You've got some fascinating designs, there. It may be time for me to do some experimentation.
