Which knife company has the best value in your opinion?

ESEE, come on with that warranty its a lifetime tool despite the backyard abusers best efforts.

Warranties aside, spyderco hands down. Its like having an ergonomic lightsaber for less than a night on the town.

kershaw for me also- when they discontinue a model you can pick it up under $30 -and thats a made in usa model!- this can't be beat!- i got an ener-g 2 with the old handles and newer steel for $20 ~ top rate knife!!!

I think all of these each have some knives that are a good buy for the money!
Kershaw/ZT
Spyderco
Benchmade
Cold Steel
Kabar
Boker

To me each one of these have some very nice folders for the money. :D Kevin

Overall I'd also have to say Kershaw. Spyderos at the same prices are still really good (close second), but the Kershaws seem to offer more for the same price. For knives over $100 I'd say Zero Tolerance, and some Benchmades.

This one is easy, Becker knives are the best bang for your buck. They are rugged well built knives you can depend on.

Zero Tolerance!! Fantastic folders and fixed blades using top of the line materials sold at really reasonable prices for the quality of product.

I love Spyderco knives more than anybody else's by an order of magnitude...but I can't call them the best value. I think there are other makers with a higher price to value ratio. Mora, Kershaw, Opinel and even Buck probably take the lead in that segment of the market.

I'm like you. Spyderco is by far my favorite knife company for their designs and value but there are other companies that do give you a lot for the money also. Swiss army knives definitely come to mind as well as the three you mentioned. While not super high quality, Rough Rider knives are way nicer than their price would lead one to believe.

My experience with many knives is somewhat limited so I can't really compare, but

Kershaw - My "Needs Work" cost $40 and is outstanding. Very stout, the blade can be made wickedly sharp, has pretty good corrosion resistance, there's the speed safe, there zero blade play in any direction, the only thing really off is that the fit and finish is a little less smooth than costlier folers.

Buck - The 119 is another $40 knife that is outstanding. I've never had any corrosion resistance problems with 420HC, and I've owned mine since somewhere around 2000 or 2001. It's been left everywhere I can think of. Edge resistance is great as well; the factory edge stuck with it for something like five years. Then when I got adventurous I touched it up with a file and even that edge lasted forever. It's very stout as well; I've hammered it into the trunk of a tree and stepped on it.

KaBar - I had a USMC Combat Fighting/Utility Knife that was great. Something like $50 when I had it; I never really used it that much over the 119 to be honest, but it was definitely a nice knife. I used a pretty good bit; enough to put an edge on it with a file. I always used the 119 more because it fits my hands better.

ESEE - Not a lot of experience with it so far, but I've had an Izula for about a month and I spent $50 on it. I'm not gonna go on about it, I think it's reputation since enough for it that I can't. I guess I could have said that about the KaBar too though.

Kershaw, hands down. That's why I always go back to them. Spyderco makes some great knives but the bang for the buck isn't quite there like it is with Kershaw even more so with Benchmade.

Cutlery Corner???

..what, with all of those "last minute" fire sales, you can't buy the raw materials for what they sell an ENTIRE TABLE full of finished knives for!

There are so many. Buck, spyderco, kershaw, cold steel (at least their folders, and srk in my opinion), moras, moras, and kabar.

kershaw not only gives you bang for your buck with the knife. they have unmatched customer service with a superior warranty to most company's.

For modern folders, and taking the company's entire line into consideration, I'd have to say Kershaw and Spyderco. Both very consistently deliver knives with innovative designs and materials, excellent fit and finish, and strict quality control at low price points relative to knives from other companies that score similarly on these three dimensions.

But, really, as evidenced by the variety of responses in this thread, there are a lot of companies out there making very good knives for the money. It really is a great time to be a knife user/collector.

For quality folders and with everything including warranty service and customer service included I have to say Kershaw. They have something for everyone in every price range and all of them are great values.
