Which knife company has the best value in your opinion?

As far as making premium steels available to the public goes, I would say Spyderco followed closely by Kershaw. Benchmade, Buck, and Chris Reeve top out at S30V.

Swamp Rat's 52100 is a pretty good value, and so are Spyderco's Mule team knives.

IMHO - Victorinox hands down. Perfect fit and finish, and knives don't come more useful than that.

After receiving the Tenacious and Gayle Bradley I would say Spyderco is head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of value. The materials and fit/finish they are putting out right now for the money asked is absolutely stunning.

spyderco, cold steel and kershaw.

spyderco for its innovation, premium steels and designs. just is top of the heap in value.

cold steel for making bullet proof knives at low cost and making cheaper steel work like the more expensive stuff

Kershaw for its fast opening assited knives at great prices and being extremely well built.

I'm always impressed by Kershaw's offerings and the reasonable prices.

Zero Tolerance. That said, I'm a long time auto collector with several high dollar pieces. I do not carry any auto. I have been carrying a Lg Sebenza 21, but since the purchase of a ZT 0350, I've been carrying it. Only because if I were to lose the ZT I would just order another one and be done with it. If I were to loose the Sebbie I'd be cheesed off.

ZT is at the top of my value list. Albeit far from the most valuable piece I own.

I'd say Kershaw for the <$50 range and Spyderco for the $50-$100 range. Above that, there are a lot of brands in the running.

Nearly every company has great values but the best knives for meager dollars are probably...

Victorinox, Mora, Buck, Cold Steel, Kershaw.

Top VALUE (especially when comparing functionality vs price), then I'd say:
Opinel
Mora
Byrd
for bit more price, improved aesthetics, fit/finish, and innovation:

Kershaw/ZT
Spyderco
Boker

Kershaw by a long shot.

Working with Ti, CPM, S110V, Composite blades, Elmax/Vanax/Bohler steels, 3-D machined G-10, CF, Ball-bearing systems, overwhelming majority of EVERYTHING made in Tualitin, Oregon, and a no-BS warranty and above-and-beyond crew operating their magic.

I agree. I am impressed with US-made Kershaws and their prices. The ones I have owned were relatively inexpensive--under $50--but well made in the USA with great warranties.
