Which knife company has the best value in your opinion?

It is hard to answer this question without taking into consideration the type of knife and the price level

For example - Spyderco completely destroy Benchmade in terms of value when you talk about folders under 50$
On the other hand , when you go up to 100$ , the Benchmade 710 is light years better than everything Spyderco has to offer at this price , at least in my opinion

You can switch Spyderco with Kershaw , and Benchmade with ZT as well
The point is every company has some model\s that shine at particular price level , and some that suck

My EDC currently consists of a ZT 0551 and a Spyderco Para 2 in S90V. Though there might be a tense moment where I swap out my Para 2 with the Kershaw Tilt or the Para 2 in CTS-20CP.

Kershaw and Spyderco are both duking it out for a spot in my pockets. Benchmade sadly has been forgotten about a month ago.

Folders: Spyderco
Fixed: Scrapyard
Multi-tools: Victorinox

The usual suspects, I guess..

Here's how I see it. Spyderco for lower price, great value, fantastic EDC's. CRK for higher end, you definitely get what you pay for knives. IMHO :)

Of course, you can never go wrong with a good SAK. As others have said, depends on your philosophy of usage.

If there was one answer, we'd all only have just one knife. I've learned rather quickly that that will never happen. It's virtually impossible.

Good luck on your quest!

Neuron said it well:
"But, really, as evidenced by the variety of responses in this thread, there are a lot of companies out there making very good knives for the money. It really is a great time to be a knife user/collector. "

I picked up a Kershaw Speed Bump, one of the screws on the handle scales came loose. I really like the discontinued Steven Segal model though. The Spyderco Tenacious has been far better, however it came with a wire edge that took some work. The Victorinox One-Handed Trekker is a lighter-duty knife, but a real favorite of mine (has sentimental value too, it's my "dad knife"). The Ontario RAT folder is a really good deal too, at around $20 - $25. The Kabar Heavy Bowie is incredible at $50, but might be too much knife for your needs. I'd have to give another vote for Boker -- they do 440A & 440C really well... And the CRKT Ignitor has the most solid-feeling lock I've ever experienced, with a razor-sharp blade right out of the box -- and it has retained that edge for about half a year of EDC carry.

For my money, it would be down to either Kershaw or Victorinox. Of the other knife companies I've bought from (Gerber, Spyderco, Cold Steel, Benchmade, Ontario, for example), many offer quality blades, but none can even touch Kershaw or Victorinox in terms of high value for the money.

I've been partial to Kershaw ever since I bought a Coral Creek lockback from them about 15 years ago. Now have many of their newer assisted knives that function perfectly.

But best value for the least money - gotta say Mora.

Kershaw by a country mile. ZT 0350 in my opinion is probably the best knife I have ever owned and like most of their knives probably would have been a deal at twice the price.

Mora, Victorinox, Kershaw all have outstanding price/performance ratio. Lots of other companies make excellent knives, but their prices are inflated (some more, some less) in my opinion.
