Which knives from your collection...

I hope I will never have to use one or would using one be anything but my last resort, but probably my pink Spyderco FRN Ladybug. Once deployed the carnage cannot be stopped.
 
CRKT Hisshou. But I don't carry that on me, so it would likely be a buck 110 since I've been carrying that lately. I would have 14 rounds of 9mm or 12 rounds of .357 magnum on me. I feel sorry for the people that don't think their life is valuable to defend it by any means possible.

Edit: I'm pretty sure this belongs in practical tactical as well.

I'm basing this thread off a video I saw where some gangsters are hanging out in the sidewalk and some other gang rolls up in a car and all jump out with machetes and start attacking, the guy closest to the surveillance cam grabs a machete but is quickly overwhelmed and drops his weapon, then he curls up in a ball and sits there until the attackers decide to stop hacking him. So you have the option of fighting with a pocket knife of curling up and getting your hands chopped off like the guy in the video, what would you draw if you could draw any non-firearm from your collection. Also have fun with it!

If you're going to die might as well die fighting with a pocket knife than curled in a ball! :)

I guess since we're off of knives and on to any melee weapon I can post my Cold Steel War Hammer!

I have the feeling my knives would just lay there and watch me be attacked. None of them really have that "guard knife" attitude.

Misfires unfortunately happen a lot more often than some people might think. And not just because of bad bullets, but outright incompetence. Empty chambers, slides not going fully into battery, bad magazine springs, bad followers, mangled magazine latches, bent feed lips, double feeds, contaminated lubricant, foreign particulates interfering with the recoil spring, broken firing pins, etc.

I have multiple handguns which had several thousand rounds through each of them. My one 1911 has had something like ten thousand rounds through it (not so much these days since .45ACP is so expensive). Multiple Glocks, multiple M&Ps. I've done plenty of snap-cap malfunction drills, I think I'm going to be alright, man. 99% of the issues you list can be circumvented by buying:

1. Quality firearms
2. Quality ammunition

I'm good on both counts. :thumbup:
 
I honestly don't see any knife beating the Hisshou

An untrained Windsor woman did it with a folding knife she bought because it matched her purse.
There were two male attackers.

It ain't the knife, it ain't the gun...it's the mental determination to be going home at the end of it all.
