Which knives would you pick for WWIII? (If it ever starts)

Can I use this thread as an excuse to buy a WW3 knife?

If not, I guess that I will just carry a multi-tool and a full size Griptilian.

My CRKT served me well while in uniform. A Griptilian should work even better.
Shouldn't everyone have a medium to large sized fixed blade in case something happens? :D

Quiet; interesting pick i have an ad15 too; why did you pick that of all folders out there ?

Well, it'd be either that or the AD10. I would pick either, really, whichever I was able to grab first. The steel is good (S35vn), and more importantly easily sharpened, have a bombproof lock (Scorpion or Triad), and they're well made of really tough materials. Most of my knives are higher end pieces that I wouldn't want to have to depend on. That's not to say they couldn't do it, but I just don't tend to think of my high-end knives as the ones to grab if real abuse is on the menu. I'd rather abuse something semi-disposable like a Cold Steel. That's just me!

This is, well, an interesting thread, Smiling.

If I had to travel light on foot, I’d attach my Recon Tanto and Mora Kansbol to my belt; the ESEE Izula and Recon 1 go to my pockets. Probably not the most optimal setup, but those blades pretty much cover my needs without weighing me down too much. Remember that there’s a whole lot of other stuff needed for survivin’ other than knives.

If I had a vehicle, I’d probably add a Kailash Kukri for large knife applications and an SOG Fasthawk for emergency situations.

WW III huh? Okay, I'll play into this fantasy, probably the Randall No. 15; That and a SAK. But I have others that would be just as capable and it all depends on the developing situation as I don't see myself as a "fighting man" at this point in my life. Unfortunately, someone semi-skilled would probably just take the Randall from me.

I shudder to think of the terrible toll of souls that knife would demand once awakened with it's demented activator switch...

Bodies piled like cordwood I suspect.

Just don't go digging in my back yard...

I've had a decade of practice

Charlie Mike and I kicked around the idea of a folding, belt carry halberd with four triad locks. Three locks for the pole and one for the blade.

I'd carry that for the apocalypse etc.

However, the correct answer to this question is smatchet, preferably rostfrei.

I don't have a smatchet, but this beauty made of high quality CPM-FOAMV should do well;

How is the edge retention of this CPM-FOAMV?

Eyeballing it, it looks like it can easily go through 100 trees before even slightly losing its sharpness.
